What a week...

Last Sunday, I smiled as I wrote out my week on my dry erase board (I MUST do that or I forget EVERYTHING and sadly, I still forget things). Finally, a quiet week! It has been crazy at case de crazy lately, and honestly I'm exhausted! The only thing set in stone was my dentist appointment... I totally did a hop, skip, and a jump as I hung the board back up dreaming up the leisurely ways I was going to spend my week! Ha! Life just has a way of throwing a wrench in plans or in this case no plans...

I picked Anthony up from school like usual, and as I was leaving someone reminded me that soccer evals were that night... Crap, totally forgot that one... Oh well, I used it as an excuse to not cook yet again... Soccer evals were perfect and I marveled at how well Anthony did waiting, listening, and just being the rock star he is...

After a late dinner at our fave pizza joint, we headed home for baths, stories, and tuck ins. As we snuggled in for stories, Anthony said he didn't want a story tonight... Say what? My head took a spin like in the exorcist and I immediately took stock of my boy... He seemed a little pale, he had black circles (but he often does because he is the boy with sleep issues), he was pretty quiet at dinner... Hmmm... Yup he felt warm. Yup he had a fever, a pretty high one to boot.. Loaded up with Motrin, I tucked him in and knew I was in for a rough night and a visit to the doc in the morning.

Thankfully, we have been spared any crazy sickness... I think Anthony only missed one day of school this year. Mad has not been sick at all... I guess we were due. The doc swabbed and it was, as I expected; strep. No biggie. I got the antibiotics, he chilled out for the day and in the morning he seemed good as new. My bouncy boy was back; so off to school he went...

After lunch I got a call, he nearly fell asleep during circle time and his fever was back. Of course I was halfway to an appointment, but I turned around and got my little guy. Totally feeling guilty that I sent him to school... I mean he truly seemed fine.

Thursday I decided to keep him home just in case, and I am glad I did because that pesky fever was back that afternoon. It was the oddest thing. He would get a fever, I'd give him Motrin, and his fever would be gone for almost 24 hours and then it would sneak back... He was totally fine until the temp hit. Poor kid! By Friday night he was finally better... Aside from the trauma of discovering the make up work he had to complete...

Saturday was a wonderfully busy day with egg hunts and Children's Day... It was a perfect day (aside from my beloved Juliet almost being hit by a car but that is a whole 'nother story) with the fam and after nursing and worrying about my sick kiddo, just what this mama needed!
