Which is kinda nice... The craziness is not so crazy lately... Honestly, its been pretty boring. Just like this blog post... lol
I think the snow days helped me get caught up with everything and I have just been able to chill out and enjoy my fam :) Looks like we will be missing school for a few more days and I am digging it :)
Wednesday and Thursday I had a great time with the minis and friends enjoying the snow days. Friday night, I hosted a party with my friends and we had a GREAT time... Cocktails, games, laughing, and catching up = my idea of a great night!
This week Jason is painting our playroom and my friend Julie is going to help me make a circle design across the one wall. I am so excited! If it turns out how I picture it, it will be AWESOME! Now, I just need Jason to hurry up and paint so he can start building the knock off Pottery Barn Kids table and chairs!
Hope everyone has a GREAT week... Mine is starting out FANTASTIC! <3

Let it snow!
Today is our third snow day and I am LOVING it! Yes, the minis may drive me nuts, BUT I would much prefer them home with me. Part of it is I DESPISE waking up to an alarm clock and I hate the morning rush out the door to get to school on time (I rarely make it on time), but I really do just like them home. We always have tons of fun!
The snow started off pretty slow, and we made some funny snowmen before the grass was completely covered, but when we all woke up from our afternoon snooze the storm was in FULL force! We had a BLAST sledding in our backyard and playing in the snow. The only bad part was that Jason was stuck at work and was not able to commute home... He had the luxury of sleeping on a comfy hotel bed all by his lonesome!
The kids wished Jason was home to play and I wished he was home to get our snow blower out, but we had a great time without him (even though I had to shovel all 10 HEAVY wet inches BY MYSELF!!) We were outside well into the night, we snuggled in and watched movies, and had a sleepover party in my room :)
The next day the kids had a blast going to their friends house and then having some friends over to sled and play all afternoon! It was another great day :) Today will be much of the same and I LOVE it!
It looks as though another storm is coming early next week and I say BRING IT ON! Casa de Crazy is ready for some more white stuff!

Moms don't get sick days!
I am finally able to peel myself off of the couch... Yesterday was the first day I felt semi human... All week I have been sick with a terrible headache, sinus crud, chest congestion, and all out aches. It was all I could do to get the minis to and from school...
I have paid dearly for my couch laying... My house is in SHAMBLES! If mom doesn't do it, it doesn't get done :( It's amazing how bad things can get when you do nothing for 4 days... The only thing I had in my favor was that Jason did the dishes...
Yesterday, I scraped toothpaste off of the kids sink, scrubbed toilets, and caught up on the overflow of laundry. Tomorrow, I will try to regain some control of my downstairs as I am having some friends over Friday night and would be horrified if peeps saw my reality! Its all about perceptions... Right?! lol
As I look at the disaster zone I call home, I have decided that us moms need a replacement to come in so we can rest up and not worry about the mess when we are sick! Sounds good right?

BIG News!!!
As soon as I saw my son on Sunday, he SQUEALED with delight! He had BIG news for this mommy! His front bottom tooth is LOOSE! He ran into my bedroom early Sunday morning frantically screaming, "Daddy, Daddy! The tooth fairy is gonna COME!! My TOOTH IS WIGGLY!!!" (so glad I missed that 5 a.m. wake up call) Jason checked and sure enough it was loose...
He must have been wiggling it all day because that puppy is REALLY loose :) I was delighted with this awesome milestone, but it makes me so sad at the same time! I called my girlfriend to share the news. We both were so excited for this BIG boy milestone, but we were both a bit teary eyed as well. Our boys are no longer the babies we have raised for 5 years, they are changing into little boys right before our eyes.
My first baby is going to start losing his teeth. This is one of the last BIG milestones... How has 5 years passed by so quickly? I have been with these babies almost every day their entire lives. I have never missed a milestone, yet I still find myself feeling like it is all passing by much too quickly... This reminds me to savour each little moment, because one day my babies will be all grown up having babies of their own...

The Most MAGNIFICENT Weekend
![]() |
| the view from my corner of the couch |
I LOVE my children with all my heart, but we all need sometime to decompress and I was LONG over due. My girls weekend was JUST what the doctor ordered!
Two of my girlfriends and I met in the snowy mountains for a weekend of relaxation, rest, and laughter... All of which were met! The cabin was FABULOUS, and aside from a small heat issue on Friday night, it was perfect... Friday we spent the evening catching up and just mellowing out... It was FABU.
Saturday, by far the best day, was spent being pampered at the spa... OMG I thought I had died and gone to heaven... The steamed towels during my facial were DIVINE and the massage... words cannot describe...
Once back to our quiet cabin, we made up some guacamole, started the fireplaces, grabbed some cocktails, and chatted the night away in the hot tub... It was perfect and just what this mama of two needed...
Sunday we headed home and I was so excited to see my babies and my awesome husband... I am so thankful for them and getting away made me appreciate them even more!

A Perfect Fit
Our new arrival has been with us for just over a month and I must say she has adjusted to life at Casa de Crazy perfectly!
While Juliet is usually by my side, she also runs and plays with the minis, snuggles and plays with Jason and I, and occasionally gets into some mischief (AKA chews up train tracks!) She is one spoiled little princess...
Madison loves to push her around in a baby stroller, Anthony puts her on the desk while he plays on the computer, Jason has taught her some tricks, and I just hold her like my little baby which gives me my baby fill and the baby bug goes bye bye! See is so snuggly and soft and I LOVE that there is NO dog hair in my house! Totally ROCKS! She is completely house trained and has only had two accidents since we brought her home.... How FAB is that?!
Juliet has been a PERFECT fit! She seems like she has always been with us and we all love her so much! I can't believe its only been a month!

The heat comes out at night...
Why does it always happen? Your sound asleep, cuddled in with your blankies, and BAM; jolted awake by your burning up baby? This has been my life for the past 2 nights and I am hoping we don't have a repeat performance tonight!
Poor Anthony has a yucky cough, but seems fine otherwise... BUT the last 2 nights he has woken up with a roaring temperature... Poor guy! :( I drug him with some Motrin, we both fall back asleep, and in the morning he is bright eyed and bushy tailed and my eyes will barely open :)
All day he seems fine, but once midnight hits, its like an inferno in his skinny little body. He has been so bummed about missing school; so I hope tonight he stays fever free... He wants to see his friends so bad (and I would like an uninterrupted nights sleep) Fingers Crossed!

baby GAP: Fail
Let me preface by saying, I LOVE baby GAP's tights. LOVE! They are thick, they wash well, and I have never had a pair snag... They are well worth EVERY penny....
BUT
My children run around in a constant state of undress... Clothing appears to be optional at our crazy house... Whatever, I got tired of saying "Put your clothes on" Oh about 2 years ago... Pick your battles... Right?
Madison tends to remove her skirts, yet keeps her tights on and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I catch a glimpse of her when she has on those damn tights My heart does a triple flip, my stomach drops, and I dread a full on look because I just KNOW the mess that awaits!
Yes, every time I see her out of the corner of my eye, I INSTANTLY think she has had a BAD case of EXPLOSIVE diarrhea!!! Each time, I take a mental note of just exactly WHERE she was playing and PRAY that it was NOT in the few rooms that there is actually carpet, before I can actually LOOK and PROCESS what I am seeing....
Yes, baby Gap's signature bear is cute, but I think the designers had a MAJOR fail when it came to the size and location of this cute little bear on these wonderfully durable tights!
Do ya feel me or am I the only one whose mind immediately goes to the potty?!?

back to the grind
Tomorrow we are back to school and I am SO NOT ready! I could have used another week or two. I am not ready for the snack packing, alarm sounding, kid carting, and full on EXHAUSTION that school brings for all of us!!
The only positive thing is that I will have a few mornings a week and can get some MUCH needed this done around this house... IF I can stay OUT of Starbucks with my peeps :)
Resolutions have been made and so far I am sticking to them... Hopefully I can / will continue!
Hopefully, I can stick to them because I will be oh so happy if I do!
PS If you have any easy kid friendly dinner ideas, PLEASE share :)
The only positive thing is that I will have a few mornings a week and can get some MUCH needed this done around this house... IF I can stay OUT of Starbucks with my peeps :)
Resolutions have been made and so far I am sticking to them... Hopefully I can / will continue!
1. Lose the last 10 pounds that do NOT want to come off!!! (I will be gyming three days a week for sure, and IF I feel like it, I will hop on my elliptical the other days... When I commit to more days, I burn out and then I slack off, so I am hoping my Monday, Wednesday, Friday idea works)
2. Get ORGANIZED (I started on my master bath the other day and disposed of two trash bags of old makeup, lotions, medicines, and a whole lot of crap... Plan to tackle a small project every day and GET IT DONE!)
3. Cook More (this is the most difficult for me. I hate to cook, BUT I have been on a roll. I cooked Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and today... For me THAT is huge!)
Hopefully, I can stick to them because I will be oh so happy if I do!

I had a fantasticly FAB birthday this year...
even if it means I am quickly approaching my mid thirties (YIKES)!
I received the best card EVER from one of my besties and it could not have come at a better time :) I was having a bit of a grumpy day and it TOTALLY made my coffee squirt out of my nose as I busted out laughing and three days later I still giggle each time I think of it...
The front has two modern stylish chicks sitting at a cute table eating a decadent piece of cake and reads: Only the good die young!
Inside?
We bitches live forever.
Instant mood lifter. LOVED it and LOVE her!
Since my birthday is New Years, there is ALWAYS a party going on (just what this attention junkie loves) and this year was no different! I rang in the New Year (and my bday) with some great friends and had a blast (even if my husband was utterly wasted and did not let ME sleep in til noon as I requested... but that is another tirade and this is a happy post all about the fabulousness of my birthday!) We chatted, laughed, cocktailed, and laughed some more... Everyone sang to me and I blew out a perfect 29 because I am 29 forever... don't hate ;)
In the morning my bestest popped by and brought me the handbag I have been drooling over from Aubrey Plays (check her out... LOVE her and her stuff!! The red and black is now mine and I totally dig), along with some bra strap holder things, and some uber cute note cards... I love this girl! She totally listens to me and gets me.... I think she may be the only one who doesn't tune me out as I ramble :)
The minis surprised me with a Carvel Ice cream cake- my FAVE- and we all just hung together lounging and enjoying each other's company. Best day ever...
What more can a girl ask for? I have an awesome family, FAB friends, and life is good! Happy 2011!!

Holy Crap! HELP!!!
OMG We have been having some MAJOR bedtime issues at Casa de Crazy lately! Going to Disney and sleeping with the minis made it bad and after my visit to my mom's its even worse (I didn't think that could be possible, BUT yeah it totally is!)
Anthony is fine, hops in bed, snuggles in, and is OUT... Like always. Madison? Bedtime is a HUGE battle! She screams, she cries, she throws things, she slams the door, she freaks the heck out! All she wants is to sleep in my room...
First, let me start by saying I am not completely cold hearted... She has her lights ON, her door OPEN, and her radio ON. I let her pick books to read and I have even told her she can play with her dollhouse if she isn't tired... (She IS tired, exhausted really, she is just "scared and lonely"...) Nothing works. NOTHING! Each night we have more of the screaming, crying, and full on craziness, BUT I won't give in... She is NOT sleeping in MY bed!
Co-sleeping works great for tons of peeps, just not for me... I like my bed and I like it uncrowded. Its not like this is a new thing. She has slept in her room by herself for 3 and a half years! Now don't get me wrong, if you wake up from a nightmare, come on in and snuggle up, but absolutely NO WAY are you starting your night in my bed....
I have ignored her, I have yelled at her, I have indulged all of her one mores, I have started a sticker chart, I have reasoned with her, I have been nice, I have been stern... NOTHING seems to work!
She's fine during stories, she's fine when I tuck her in, she's fine while she reads the couple of books she brought to bed with her, and THEN all HELL breaks loose! I am at a loss... What do I do? I hate sending her to bed so upset. I hate that Anthony has to fall asleep listening to all the commotion. I hate being mean, but I fear if I let her come to my bed, she'll never leave. She used to go to bed fine, but the past few months have been terrible... So for all you experienced peeps out there, hook a mama up! What's a girl to do when bedtime goes awry?!? HELP!
PLEASE!
