Horrible Hair

Thursday Anthony came home from school with a reminder that Friday was Horrible Hair day (Thank GOD for reminders)... I showed him the handout and immediately he said Nope! He so did NOT want to do horrible hair day...

"Are you sure?" I asked. I told him we could run to the store and get some fun colors to spray in his hair, but he was NOT biting. With a shrug, I said no biggie and horrible hair day was a fleeting memory in this can't remember anything brain of mine...

Flash forward to Friday morning. Late. Yup, late as usual. With 2 minutes to spare, I manage to get Anthony dressed, fed, and lunch packed! Go Mom (I swear it was a new record!!) I sent him upstairs to QUICKLY brush his teeth as the bus would be coming!

"Mommy" my happy boy squealed leaping down the steps... As he rounded the corner giggling, I hear, "I'm gonna do bad hair day so I put shampoo in my hair!"

"WHAT!!" As I look, I see my son's head covered and matted down with shampoo, a half a bottle of SHAMPOO!" Its a miracle it did not get in his eyes!  I drug him as fast as we could into the bathroom and between laughter and head shaking I somehow managed to rinse out the shampoo, smear in some gel, and sprayed in some glitter for good measure! (Glitter? Yes, I know but its all that was on hand and the gel just looked like the days I actually FIX his hair. So yes glitter, just GO WITH IT!!!)

As we are stepping out the front door, Jason looks at me panic stricken and I see the bus go by... In that 2 second glance I could SO READ him... He was totally thinking "OMG I have a MEETING in one hour. I am already PUSHING it! I had to go 2 minutes ago, but instead he shouts "He missed the bus!"

Me, (on the front porch where all can see) in PJ's no bra, WHITE zit cream all over my face, teeth unbrushed, hair a hot mess screams "Oh no he didn't!!" and with a slight push "I yell RUN ANTHONY RUN!!!" (it was such a Forrest Gump moment...) And with that he was off! Down the street he ran towards the bus stop...

The best part? Once he saw the bus was waiting for him, his run turned into a casual stroll and he took his sweet ass time waving to all his friends in the bus windows!  I looked at Jason and smiled, "See I knew he wouldn't miss it! Have a great day!" and into my warm house I bolted because now I had 15 minutes to get myself ready and Madison to school!

Do you see why I am CRAZY?!?! Thought so!
