Wordless Wednesday: Mi Familia

Just Another Manic Monday!
O-ee-O...
Monday's have turned to mayhem! It started out with my fat shakin' at the gym, running to 2 stores looking for Madison's ballet essentials, rushing home for a late lunch and a MUCH NEEDED shower... The toxins were escaping my body during this morning's workout!! One word: FUNKY!
Madison started ballet today (yay!!) We had her in before and we LOVED it, BUT the place she was enrolled was WAY too disorganized for my liking so we pulled her (sorry to digress... yet again...) and now, 8 months later she is finally dancing her heart out! In her words, "I wuvs my dancin times mommy! Its weally fun!" LOVE it!
After ballet we had about 45 minutes to get to soccer so we hit up McDonald's for our fine family meal... The kids were "hey mommy"-ing me to death and my my brain's circuits were overloading as I tried to fill drinks, get ketchup, corral dips, and find a table... I was trying to walk and answer them at the same time (hard concept, right) when something happened....
All three drinks toppled over onto me and obviously all over the floor! I was covered in Diet Coke (yes the kids get diet soda OCCASIONALLY. I know shame on me....) My white shirt was brown, my bra was dripping, my shorts looked as though I forgot how to use the potty, and my sneakers were squishing!!! gross!
Can we all just take a moment to shout DISASTER??!
Thank you... I swear my life is one hot mess after another! I quickly ate my cheeseburger, tossed my saturated fries, and piled the minis into the car (with their happy meals); all so we could fight traffic for twenty minutes to get me some dry clothes! UGH... we were totally going to be late to practice and I am coaching! Great example...
I was ripping clothes off the second my feet hit the garage floor and quickly changed into something a little more dry. Since all my "extra" time I thought we would have was ate up by my clumsiness... I had to strip Mad out of her ballet clothes and into something more "soccer friendly" in the driveway (she was SO NOT happy about THAT!) and I had to shin guard and cleat my son. Oy.... The minutes were ticking by!
I finally made it to the field (in 100 degree temps!) and I was only 15 minutes late... I didn't think that was too bad considering! Soccer was fab! The kids did great and were a ton of fun :) I really am enjoying it even though I arrived more than frazzled and a wee bit tired!
Is this what my future holds? Chaotic Mondays filled with rushing from one place to the next?! Having messes pop up because I am too focused onto where we need to be next? Coming home, hosing down bathing the kids, and getting them into bed as quick as possible. Finally only to collapse myself? OY!
This mommy has had an EXHAUSTING Monday! Here's hopin for a better and less crazed Tuesday!

Bye-Bye Nursery!
Hello Big Boy Room!
Anthony's nursery was "sports" themed. It was dreadful. I hated it! This nursery was the first "parenting fight" Jason and I ever had... I remember it clearly. We were standing in the middle of Babies R Us bickering back and forth because he wanted it and I did NOT! I cried, but he stood firm. He always gives in when I cry, but not this time. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, I actually gave in... It must have been a hormonal day...
We decided to swap Anthony's room over to the other side of the house so that he and Madison could share the Jack and Jill bath and so that our playroom could be larger (the thought was it would be less messy because the toys would stay in the wall of closets... NOT!).
The planning had begun. After much thought, I decided to go with a skateboard room! I must say I LOVE it! The room he was moved to is smaller, so one of his dressers had to be moved to the closet, which was fine because I hang all the kids' clothes... Bedding was purchased, rooms were swapped, and wall art was hung! It was all coming together. One thing was missing though... He needed 2 nightstands. Jason agreed to tackle the task and he built them, from scratch, all by himself! OMG they are BEAUTIFUL and complete the room perfectly!! He loves it and so do we! My baby boy is now one gnarly surfer dude!
Up next? Playroom redo! I am eyeing a PBK kids table and four chairs and Jason has agreed to make it! SCORE!

Fact or Fiction? Skinny or Boot? GTKY Sunday!
As I folded what felt like the umpteenth load of laundry yesterday, I received a phone call from a dear friend offering me 6 tickets to the circus!! I was super excited! We were able to bring a friend and her daughter and one of my almost sisters... We had a great time! Some highlights?
Since its a sleepy Sunday here, I have a few minutes to participate in GTKY! Join in! I have found some great blogs through GTKY...

The Q's.
1. If you accidentally knick a car in a parking lot..Do you leave a note or do you get the heck out of there? Most definitely leave a note (if its a noticeable mark) I have gently dinged a few doors while putting the minis in car seats, but I always look and there is never a mark. I TRY to be careful.... I mostly damage my car by running over mailboxes or crashing into columns at bank drive thrus....
2. Love your body or plastic surgery?
Plastic surgery... Yes, I am vain! I have wanted my boobs done for well... EVER, and as soon as I get to my goal weight, I am pretty sure I am getting them done!! (not ginormous or anything just a little bigger than my current bee stings!) I have no problem with a little nip and tuck...
3. What about your favorite blog(s) continues to drive you back?
I love when they keep it real! Life is not always a pretty picture that can be wrapped in a bow... All the blogs with their perfect children, perfect homes, perfect everythings drive me crazy and make me feel so inadequate! My life is usually a hot mess of one disastrous moment after another!
4. What percent of your blog is BS just to make your life seem more interesting than it really is?
My blog is fairly boring, with some flashes of the craziness my children and I seem to stumble into... So yeah, its all real. If I were to embellish, my life would be CRAZY interesting. I would be saving the world or some crap!
5. If you had to give up one type of meat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chicken... HATE it!
6. How often to you eat out?
Way TOO much! I have cooked at home only twice the whole month of August! I think I must be on a kitchen strike! Usually we eat out one or twice a week.
7. Skinny jeans or boot cut jeans?
boot I have a new found LOVE with Gap's Sexy boot jeans... They fit me PERFECTLY!
8. If you caught your spouse cheating would you forgive, divorce, or plan your kill?
This is terrible. I won't lie. I would most likely forgive the bastard, but trust me when I say this: I would make his life MISERABLE. I would never let it go... We would be the most miserable people that walked this earth....
- The human banana being shot out of a cannon
- The elephants doing hand stands
- The daredevil motorcycles
- Anthony LOVED the clowns

Joke of the day...
As we were driving to preschool orientation earlier this week, my little man pipes up from the back seat:
Anthony: Mommy? Why did the bee get married?I about drove off the road! God knows where he heard that, but it was just the kind of corny joke I am a sucker for!! He cracks me up, my own little comedian ♥♥ That boy can light up a room like no other, I just love his little spirit!
Me: Why?
Anthony: Because he LOVES his honey!!!! Get it? HONEY BEE!! (insert hysterical laughter here) Get it mom?!?! (more laughs)
Blow that whistle!
Soccer season has started and I was so excited for Anthony to play again this year! He has come a long way with his maturity and I just KNEW it was gonna be a great and fun season. The week we were to be assigned to out teams, an email came through requesting for some more volunteers. I responded saying I would love to help and sure enough the next day I received an email saying I was the Assistant Coach! Jason about died laughing. He could NOT even believe, I the unsporting girl, agreed to do this! My coaching a sport team is funny on numerous levels:
OMG! Practice was so much fun! I really enjoyed myself and we have a team full of cuties :) The kids were so sweet and fun and boy do we have some exuberant kids! They are all just full of life and so excited to play :) Anthony did fantastic and I was so proud of him!!
My coaching abilities were non existent, but I did great keeping them in line, focused, and happy. I wiped a few tears, smooched a boo boo, held some hands, and cheerleaded each of them every chance I got. It was a great time and I think I just might really enjoy my first semi coaching experience! GO PENGUINS :)
- I am so unathletic its not even funny....
- I hate sports (I played Lacrosse in high school (I totally sucked, but played simply because I LOVED the skirt... same goes for cheerleading (though I was pretty good at that!)
- I hate to get dirty
- I hate to sweat
- I know NOTHING about soccer
- Did I mention I HATE to get dirty?!?

Returning to the frenzy....
This morning, as I stood staring at my coffee pot willing it to drip faster, I was relishing in the quiet, soaking in each second as the day was about to begin in FULL force. The coffee was drip dripping and then SQUEAK! What the?!? I peeked over by the fridge and I saw it! We caught the mouse! Hip Hip HOORAY! I pushed the fridge out a bit and leaned down to pick up him and his death trap, but his beady little eyes got to me. I felt so bad for him, so I left the little guy for Jason. He could be the killer today... Today was gonna be a good day and I could not begin it by putting a cute little mouse in a bag, in the outside garbage so that he could die a horrible death. Nope, not today...
Today was my baby boys first day of school! I have been dreading it as I hate to say goodbye to summer, but, school is good for him and he LOVES it! I can't fight it so I may as well embrace it! As I finished my last sip of coffee my handsome guy came barrelling downstairs asking if today was the day... He could barely contain himself when I confirmed that YES he was going to school!
We made it out the door without a hitch and we were on time! (I even had time for pictures!!) This, my friends, is a first!! Last year we were late every. single. day. What can I say, I am SO not a morning person. Anthony anxiously waited for the classroom door to open so he could join his soon to be friends and have some fun! I gave him a smooch and away I walked so proud of my little guy and counting down the whole three hours when he would be with me again...

I hope everyone has / had a fantastic first day of school! In two weeks, I get to do it all over again with my baby girl's first day! Hopefully, then I will not be greeted by a mouse first thing!

Another Mis-Adventure at Casa de Crazy!
Late last night, I was snuggled in watching True Blood. I had just learned Sookie was a fairy?! and my beloved Eric signed his will leaving everything to what's her name when out of the corner of my eye I saw something... I looked and sure enough it was a flipping MOUSE running across my family room floor! I hit pause and Jason about DIED when I told him why I interrupted our vamp hour! His expression was PRICELESS! He hates mice, about as much as I hate all critters that live in dark places... For some odd reason mice don't phase me...
I got up and poked behind the TV, but didn't see the little bugger and that's when it all started. Jason was in full on FREAK OUT mode!
First, he yells at me because I have no shoes on and its gonna bite me... Then he arms himself with socks, shoes, a container of clorox wipes, and a Dustbuster. He was on a mission. Searching high and low for "evidence" cleaning as he went (maybe I should let a few mice loose each week... hmmm...). He discovered the mice have been all along the kitchen floor, the family room, and a little in the dining room. Nothing was on the counters (thank GOD) or anywhere else...
As calm as a cuke, I just suggested we just get some traps in the morning but NO.... You see I was not "grasping the severity" of this issue! Jason was going to get traps tonight. Now! At 1:00 a.m.! Seriously?!? Ok, whatever. I mean really I am the one who went to the ER in the middle of the night because I could NOT get my rings off. I was gonna allow him his freak time. After all, its only fair. I told him to drive safe and that I was going to bed...
"WHAT!" he shouted, "you are not going to bed!!! I need YOU to watch the floor and see if you see him and where he goes! I need you to make sure it stays in this area!!"
Dumbfounded, I explained I was NOT watching the floor for mice and that I WAS taking my happy ass to bed! I mean REALLY?!?! What did he want me to do? Grab the little mousie and attach a GPS enabled anklet? Let's just say he was not at all thrilled with my nonchalance and I was NOT caring! I was going to bed....
At 3:39 I woke to him getting in bed... He was hard at work hoping to de-mouse our house, while I slept soundly! When the alarm sounded, I popped my sleepyhead up and trudged down to my newly loved coffee pot and tried to start my day. That's when I saw it... Traps EVERYWHERE! They lined the floors, they were in closets, under chairs, behind the couch. EVERYWHERE! The man must have spent $200 dollars in glue traps... I just shook my head, told the minis to not touch, and waited for the coffee to finish perking. It was too early to deal with this nonsense!
Nothing has been caught as of yet, maybe tonight we will get "lucky"! I am just hoping to be able to finish True Blood!

Five Question Friday
This week has been a blur! Super busy trying to soak up every last second of the summer before Anthony is back to school on Monday... I wanted to blog but so much has been going on I just don't know where to begin, so I opted for the fun and easy wat out: a meme!

1. Do you have any nicknames and if so how did it come about?
no real exciting nicknames... In my teens / early 20's some friends called me space cadet because I am ALWAYS off in Staci's world... What can I say its a fun place to visit!
2. What is your birth order amongst your siblings?
I am the oldest and I have one younger sister...
3. In a movie of your life, who would play your significant other?
I would love Eminem to play him just because he is my MAJOR crush, but in all honesty I have no CLUE who would play Jason... He's quiet, caring, bad boy-ish, and so smart!
4. What is currently your favorite song?
Currently my kids make me play California Gurls, Airplanes, and OMG all the time, but I am lovin' Em's new album! I just wish I was kidless more often so it can get a few more plays in my car....
5. Are you saving your money for anything right now? Big or small purchase?
Not right now, but I am keeping an eye on things because private school tuition will be in full force next year!

4. What's your one "must have" for Fall?
A few more pairs of Gap's Sexy Boot Cut jeans... they fit me FABULOUS!
5. What's your favorite fast food restaurant?
Sonic

7. Did you wear braces?
Oh yeah! They were taken off the day before freshman year!
8. Would you rather have a guy that's super sexy or kind?
Kind... kindness is SEXY!

So tonight marked the umpteenth time I have had to call poison control in the past 4 years and 11 months of motherhood. I now know that you child will not die if:
- they decide munching on philodendrons is a great idea while sitting in a highchair as mom does dishes BEFORE said mom knew the baby could reach and grab things
- they decide to grab a bottle of shout and spray it in their mouths while mom is 2 feet away throwing clothes in the washing machine
- they sneak a tube of chap stick and eat half of it while mom empties her bladder
- they decide the fluffy lone dandelion looks quite appetizing

When Animals ATTACK!
Last night as I was chatting on the phone, I stepped out into the garage for a minute... As I was pulling the door shut, I felt something fly at me! I quickly shut the door and turned to see what it was! I won't lie... the F bomb was dropped as a baby bat SWOOPED at my head and its wings flapped in MY HAIR! I SCREAMED and ran out into the driveway to escape this vile creature! As I jumped up and down doing a skevved out little freak out dance repeating OMG OMG OMG over and over stood on the driveway I watched the little bastard fly around aimlessly in my garage! I was stunned none of my neighbors came to my rescue or called the police as I SCREAMED! What the hell was I gonna do? Of course Jason was working over nights, though I doubt he would have come to the rescue as he would have freaked too, so I had to deal solo! My solution? Run in the front door and pray the bastard leaves on his own accord!
After an hour, I crept back out into the garage and THANKFULLY it was GONE! Still grossed out, I pushed the garage door button faster than a toddler's mood swing! All night I could not get that nasty thing out of my mind! I couldn't sleep because:
Oh how this city girl longs for the days when a squirrel sighting was a rare and exciting occasion! hahaha

I just kept thinking of it and how it probably had rabies and was going to eat me and then I would need 100 shots in my stomach and then I would still DIE because the rabies shots would NOT work.... ;) (dramatic much?)OMG Xanax anyone?!? I won't even lie, at 3:00 a.m. I went in Madison's room, made a bit of noise and the second she stirred I scooped her up and said "It's okay baby, come sleep with mama". Yes, I woke my baby up because I was scared! Once she snuggled in, we both slept much better!

12 Days
That's it! Twelve short days and school is back in... I am SO NOT looking forward to it! I am not ready to empty and fill back packs, drop off and pick up, and most importantly SO NOT ready to hit the driveway running at 8:15 a.m. late as USUAL! ! My eyes are not even ready to open til 9!
UGH! How has this summer flown by so quickly? We have had so much fun with our friends and each other and I am just not ready for it to end! Anthony and Madison are looking forward to school, but mommy is NOT!
The one positive thing I can find is that my routine will be back and I will no longer push everything off for the tomorrow that never comes. Hopefully my gym membership will get regular usage again, my house will be cleaned often, and laundry will stay caught up... I work well with routine and summer just never has any :)
I am going to make the best of the next 12 days savoring every second! First up? Hitting the water park tomorrow!

Guilty Parenting
Jason and I have been consumed for two days swapping out Anthony's room and the playroom and we are FINALLY finished!! Anthony's room looks awesome, and as soon as the wall art I have ordered arrives, I will post some pictures! Needless to say, the playroom is a hot mess BUT as soon as I figure out what direction I want to take it, I will be all over it making it the pretty space I am hoping to have!
Since we were so busyand feeling guilty and had about zero quality time with the minis, we decided to head back to Lancaster and utilize our season passes to Dutch Wonderland! Holy cow was it hot! Thank GOD there is TONS of shade there or we would have D.I.E.D! We had a blast, as usual, and rode all of our favorite rides :) This time Anthony decided to try out the swings and LOVED it! Mad was a bit sad because she was not quite tall enough, BUT later she did brave it out and rode the "BIG" log flume :)
We had a fantastic day and stopped at one of my faves on the way home, Olive Garden, for dinner and it was a perfect ending to a FANTASTIC day! (Olive Garden has a few new things on the menu and my tip for the day: RUN and try the lasagna rolls... OMG Heaven on a plate! My ass will be thanking me later, but it was oh so worth it!)
Now that I shared the most fab thing on OG's menu, here's a few pics that turned out semi decent from our fab day!

Getting To Know Me... again!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Jason and I have been hard at work redoing Anthony's bedroom and swapping out the playroom with his room. We decided to switch to make the playroom bigger and give him the bedroom with access to our Jack and Jill bathroom. I am pooped, but his room is basically DONE! I just need the wall art to arrive and then it will be complete! :) Pics will soon follow! Now, I just need to figure out what color and HOW I want to decorate the playroom.... It's so hard to pin down colors when there is a boy and girl using it! I am having a hard time coming up with a unisex color scheme and wall art... Any ideas?
Well here is this week's questions... Pop on over to MannLand5 and join in!
The Q's.
1. Do you think mustaches are sexy? yeah that would be NO! I have been URGING Jason to shave for years, but he won't! I know its because the Air force MADE him for 4 years and he thinks he is still bucking the system....
2. What's the last concert you've been to? I think the last concert was an Eminem concert, but it may have been a Jay Z show... I can't remember which was last... Its been a while :)
3 What was your favorite 80's sitcom? I LOVED Growing Pains especially when Leonardo made his appearance... LOVED him then!
4. Were you named after anyone? nope
5. When you buy new clothes, do you wash before wearing? nope... I pop the tags and roll! There is something about popping the tags that I just LOVE!
6. If you didn't blog, what would you do with your spare time? I would probably read more...
7. What is your favorite department store? hmmmm.... Tough one! I like Nordstrom and Macy's... I don't usually go to department stores though...
8. If you were to get Laser Hair Removal..where would you get it? Arm pits! I have no CLUE as to what is up, BUT my hair has been growing like CRAZY there lately!!

Really? Seriously? This is what I have to look forward too?
Yesterday at a play date, us moms were chatting it up while our minis ran, jumped, laughed, and played. It was quite FABULOUS! Of course the topic of body hair came up (don't you always talk about body hair with your girlfriends? I mean really, whats a conversation if body hair is NOT mentioned : P)
I waswhining about explaining how no matter how frequently I shave the pits, five o'clock shadow creeps up on me! How disgusting right? I was the girl who could shave once every three or four days and even then I didn't really really need to! I am not hairy!!! Skipping a day is SO NOT an option these days... The consensus was hormones and age?!? ugh! Really?!? Yuck!
Of course this getting older segued into ear hair... excuse me a moment while I barf... OK I think I may be able to finish this post with out dry heaving... Seriously ear hair?! EWWW! Apparently most men get this AND my husband is NOT too young for the random hairs to be poking out of his ears! Apparently some of my 30 something friends' husbands' have a few stragglers! I was urged to take a peek at Jason's ears and of course I pounced snuck a peek on the total down low the second he walked through the door!
"Soooo how was work", I chirped, as I threw my arms around him hoping for a quick peek, but of course he moved his damn head. I got the standard "fine" along with a weird glance as he turned to set down his keys. Not one to be defeated I tried to go in a for a kiss on the cheek, but it was no use. He was on to me!
"What did you do or how much will it cost me?" Yeah, Jason's no dummy... "Nothing... really..., I swear" I said careening my neck but the lighting was just so bad! At this point he was getting a bit irritated. I sensed it and before he got pissy I just spilled it!
"Apparently when men get old they get hair in their ears! We both know you are getting OLD, so I was peeking! Apparently plenty of men your age have it. I just wanted to be sure because I cannot even think of you with tufts of hair sticking out! OMG that is SO gross!!! We have to stay on top of these things! Ok, now just let me look!" I rambled...
By now he was annoyed because:
Defeated and annoyed, I really broke his heart... "Well... I was SO grossed out that you MIGHT have tufts of vile ear hair I just couldn't bring myself to fix anything! There is a frozen pizza in the freezer..."
With that, he headed to the bathroom and I totally peeked and he was TOTALLY checking if he had some random hairs where they shouldn't be!
I am pleased to report that there were NONE.... for now!

As I was getting Madison out of the tub, she rubs her tummy and explains that she has a baby growing in there... I giggled, "You don't have a baby in there silly!" Which made her scrunch her sweet little face, think for a moment, and ask, "Den whys it getting bigger den!?!"
My silly girl!

Getting To Know Me even more....
It's that time again! Keely is still hosting Sunday's getting to know you and I am participating again! I think its neat to read everyone's answers... You should check it out, your sure to "meet" some fun new bloggers :)

The Q's..
1. If you were to win an award today, what would it be for?
The Queen of Procrastination! Why do something now when there is ALWAYS later?!? This has been my motto for well, EVER! All through school, college, and even now at home I am last minute. Somehow it has never bit me in the butt... yet! I always work better when its crunch time!
2. What is your shoe style?
I am a flip flopaholic! I wish I could wear them year round and I definitely wear them before the season starts and well after the season ends... Last winter I was digging my knock off Uggs... I used to be a heel girl, but now not so much!
3 Does your car reflect your personality?
hmmm.... Not sure! I drive a big ole blacked out black expedition, I always feel like peeps expect a drug dealer to pop out (especially when I was rollin on 24's) instead of this little blond mom and two minis!
4. If you could take over someones body for a day..whose would you choose?
I would take over one of these uber slim, bones jutting, size 0, hot mama's bodies so I could see how they REALLY stay SO thin, because honey it can't all be pilates! I need some insider info!
5. Love or be loved?
Both?!? I never understood how much a person could love someone else until I had my minis, and there is something so good about loving someone that much, BUT there is no better feeling that being around those who love you totally and completely!
6. If you were on death row, what last meal would you choose?
a good (HUGE) slice of NY pizza (cheese ONLY) with an ice cold glass of sweet tea (sugar with a splash of tea) from Jestine's Kitchen in Charleston, SC!
7. Have you been on vacation this Summer, if so where?
We have gone to Ocean City, MD and Myrtle Beach, SC this summer and it has been fantastic! Next up? Disney!
8. What is your favorite food related guilty pleasure?
Utz Rippled potato chips! Boring huh? Those are my weakness and I try to stay away from them because I can't stop at 1 or 20 or even 50! LOVE them!
