I have looked into the future....

and I am a TAD bit frightened....

Last week Anthony had his first week of Day Camp and he ABSOLUTELY 100% LOVED it! I on the other hand was exhausted.... Really I am not a morning person. There was once a time I had to smoke 2 cigs just to open my eyes (I have since quit for over a year *pat pat*) Now, I need 200zs of Diet Mt. Dew to function....

I had to have Anthony to camp by 9. I know that is not early, BUT I am NOT used to leaving the house before 9.... Getting out by 10 is a feat. I am not sleeping in mind you, (Ant is usually up before 7) it just takes me a LOOOONG time to get moving!

Even when I worked the earliest I had to be there was 2:15! I am a night person. On most nights I am perusing the webz, reading, or catching up with TiVo into the wee hours of the night. I do not do well waking up to an alarm it makes me GRUMPY... like REALLY grumpy!
I am concerned about the fall and having to be somewhere looking half way presentable by 8:45.... 3 days a week! yikes! I know I will get used to it, but still it scares me! I think Anthony is destined to be late to school! Poor guy!

We have a Winner!!

First, I want to thank everyone for entering my giveaway!! Now, for the winner.....

Melissa from My Little World: Choo Choos, Cars, & Lip Gloss is the winner of the Wonderworld ABC Touchy Blocks! So, Melissa send me an email with your shipping info and I will have them shipped right out to you!!

Thanks again everyone!

It's a MIRACLE!!

This week has been the battle of the sickness at casa de Staci.... and I am happy to announce I *think* (fingers, toes, eyes, arms & legs crossed) I have been missed! The sickness gods did not take me... this time... YET! :) hip hip hooray!

Anthony started us off with pink eye.... Which Jason then decided he wanted too! He also came down with a nasty sore throat! Madison and I were still in the clear though! Woot woot!

The doc gave me tons of eye drops so that I would have enough drops for the rest of my family.... So I was doing Jason and Anthony every 4 hours as directed :) (such a good little wifey.... not)

Anyway, Anthony's eye was looking good, but Jason's was getting worse! Friday morning we wake up to Madison's eye full of goo as well as with Jason in HORRIBLE pain! He said he would have his teeth pulled 5 times over the pain in his eye and throat! I sent him to the doc and....

he has STREP as well as an bad reaction to the initial eye drops! His eye is mega NASTY! The white looks like red jelly! GROSS!!! The pain is subsiding, but it still looks yucky! Madison's pink eye was caught before it got bad and is already gone!!!

I, my friends, am feeling fine and hoping that against all odds I will NOT become sick!!!

The Big Show!

All week long Anthony has been telling us that he has a "BIG talent show coming right up" and today was the day! This was the last day of his week at day camp and they did a little performance for the parents. It was really cute! After each song they sang, Anthony ran to me so excited asking if I saw his talent show! He was so very proud!! As was I! He is growing into such a big boy :) He was presented with a book created from all his projects and works this week and could NOT wait to show me! He loved camp!! Here are two videos from two of the songs he sang. He was just BEAMING!!

Wordless Wednesday

quarantined + funnies = my family

That's us. Trapped, stuck at home, all alone.... ;) Pink eye has knocked at our door and poor Anthony is a gunky, gooey, goopey mess! :(

It sucks he has pink eye, but we have been desperate for a day home after all the business that has become of our June... So while I hope (fingers and toes crossed) that the rest of us are not contaminated I am glad to be home and RELAXING! :)

***

Madison's ballet studio is on a farm. Its AWESOME!!! They have mini ponies, goats, horses, ducks, cats, a peacock, and more... To get to the studio we meander along a path and its like a mini farm field trip. We both love it! Well yesterday as we head to class Madison spots the peacock in the tree and this is what she says:

"Mommy, deres my cock! See it? I wuv da cock. Bye cocky"

Being the grown up that I am I did NOT even giggle.... okay well; maybe a little :)

***

Last night, I attempted to get Anthony into the doc so we could start the meds early but alas they were closed.... Anthony asked if he could play with his "fwends" when we got home since the doctor office was closed. I explained that he couldn't because he has pink eye and we don't want our friends to catch it. That's when he oh so seriously informed me that:

"I do NOT have pink eye anymore. Its all gone!!! I just has orange eye!!" and he crossed his arms and pouted all the way home :)

Its NEVER dull :)

GUESS WHAT!

So this morning I loaded up the kids and headed to the park.... I was not just an ordinary trip to the park though! This trip was special! This park trip included a playdate with.... a BLOGGER BUDDY! How cool is that?

A while ago Jen over at Harried Mom of Four and I were chatting via email and discovered that we live super close AND (how crazy is this) we used to live in the same neighborhood at the same time a few years ago!!

Since we live super close we decided to meet up and I'm glad we did!!! It was a great way to spend the morning!! The kids had fun running and playing and we had fun chatting and getting to know each other better! I look forward to more playdates! Thanks Jen!!

Sharing....

CRAZY EDITED BECAUSE I CANNOT SPELL!!! (hanging my blushing head for not hitting SPELL CHECK!)

Jen over at Harried Mom of Four also tagged me in a get to know you.... I just received this tag so its the only one I am not crazy late on!

Six Things You Need to Know About Me

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to read! I adore getting lost in a story! I need to make more time for my beloved books! I have a teetering stack to get through!

  2. I LOVE to travel! I so very much enjoy visiting a new place and exploring! I wish I was able to travel more!!

  3. I have a "thing" for big sunglasses!!! The bigger the BETTER!

  4. I am a planner / scheduler / routine oriented person. I stick to the "plan" as often as possible.... I am a creature of habit and when things go awry, it sends me in a tailspin. I have been better at this since I have had children, but I still stick to schedules and routines. It can be a bit OBSESSIVE!

  5. I have a baby / kid gear obsession. Thankfully my kids are bigger and do not need as much "stuff" I swear I coveted and had nearly every type of baby gear possible.... It was CRAZY! If they made it I had it! I came across this the other day and I kinda want a baby just to try it.... I would have LOVED this gadget!

  6. Horror movies are my THING! Thankfully they are Jason's thing too.... I would bet we have seen nearly every horror movie ever made!! We love to watch them!!! The gorier, the crazier, the spookier the better!

I love you, you love me....

The Fantastic ~~Mel~~ over at The Bubble...thoughts and other miscellaneous blabberings from me... gave me this award forever ago too and I am embarrassed it has taken me this long to get caught up!!!

I can accept this award with the following conditions:

I must list 7 personality traits about myself and I must pass this award onto 7 other blogs that deserve such fine recognition for the personalities that they share with the blogging world.

  1. I obsess and worry over minor things.... Like ridiculously OBSESS! I rarely sweat the BIG things, but the small things can send me into a MAJOR anxiety attack! I have been known to obsess over invitations, accessories, school that is YEARS away, just plain silly things! I will NEVER forget my first real panic attack.... It happened in college, during class, when I recieved a less than steller grade. My first non A (in college anyway) I sat and obsessed the entire class and the last five minutes of class I started to hyperventalate... talk about EMBARRASSING!

  2. I am a shover.... Heed my warning: Never oipen a closet in my home because things may fall out on you.... I am know to shove things in random places so I no longer have to look at them :( My goal is to get more organized this summer!

  3. I LOVE to be outside in the fresh air.... In the winter I can get the SADZ if I am cooped up too long! I hope to one day move to Phoenix.... Do not mistake my love for fresh air outdoorsy... I do NOT like hiking, camping, or any prolonged wilderness type activities....

  4. I am a CRIER! I cry at commercials, TV shows, movies, books, etc. I enjoy a good cry!

  5. I am TERRIFIED of heights! My palms get sweaty seeing high places on TV. I hate this fear! When we lived in Colorado, I missed out on a lot of pretty sights becaise I could not get over my fear!

  6. I am open minded and extremely liberal....

  7. Finally, I think that I am kind.... While I have my grumpy moments, I really strive to be kind. Each day I set out to be the best I cab be. It may not always work, but its what I strive for!

This was difficullt! Okay, I pass this award nto:

What's New?

  • We have joined the gym! I have to say so far I enjoy it! I have been taking some yoga classes, doing some cardio, and Jason and I have been doing some weight stuff together.... I hate weights, but it has been fun doing them together! The kids have been going to kids club and Anthony LOVES it BIG surprise ;) Madison is iffy. She's getting better though! I have to laugh because I have crying both ways, Madison when I leave and Anthony when its time to go home! I can't win! :)
  • Madison and Anthony have been getting more and more comfortable in the pool. They DO NOT like the big pool, but they have so much fun in the baby pool and that suits me just fine!

Back in the day when I was young....

ha! Last night I went to a friends surprise 40th birthday party! It was a theme party (which are always fun) and we were bringing it back to the 80's "when she thought she was cool" (as the invite read :)

We had fun! Dressing up was fun! I had an off the shoulder T, a wrist full of jelly bracelets, a denim mini, a hip slung belt, an I attempted the 80's big hair wave.... The hair thing was difficult! I could not get it high enough and the second I stepped outside the too tall bangs fell flat! I cannot remember the trick! :) Here are some pics from the party.... enjoy giggling! Happy Birthday LeeAnn!

grrrrr.....

I just accidently hit reject instead of publish on all my comments! :( So if your comment is missing that's why! I cannot figure out how to get them back :(

A post I HAD to share: BOYS

I read this blog, Live, Laugh. Pull Your Hair Out, and it is great! I enjoy it a lot. I came across a post she wrote the other day and I HAD to share! It is SO true and I know just what she is saying because I have gotten that look. A lot. So enjoy and check her out!

*************

BOYS

I am a mother to two boys.

Two rambunctious, testosterone-filled boys.

Two boys who are two years apart.

My boys are not quiet.

My boys do not have a delicate bone in their body.

My boys are, well...true boys.100% boys.

I have noticed something.

I have noticed that parents of girls do not enjoy being around boys.

They give me the look.

The "OH MY GOD PLEASE CONTROL YOUR BOYS" look.

The "I am so happy I don't have boy{s}" look.

The "How is that mother walking around without a straight jacket?" look .

Let me give these parents some information.

I am fully aware that my boys are

loud....

rough.....

whiny.....

dirty......

and sometimes don't use their manners.

I realize that my boys are wearing clothing that does not match.......

wearing rubber boots on a bright sunny day......
.
out in public with messy faces.........

using the word "Geez" in every sentence.

I am fully aware that they enjoy risky activities.........

eat too much junk food......

make huge messes.......

prefer to work with tools than toys.....

do not enjoy quiet activities.

So your looks do not scare me or intimidate me.

They only make me sad that you do not get to experience my life.

Because one day my boys will be men.

Men who aren't afraid to work and get dirty.

Men who aren't wimpy.

Men who will know how to fix things.

Men who aren't intimidated by others.

Men who know that looks don't mean everything.

Men who are comfortable in their own skin to be the person they want to be.

Men who take risks instead of the "easy way out".

Men who are happy.

That's all I have to say about that.

Up, Up, and Away!

Anthony and I had a date today! :) We went to see Up and it was Anthony's first movie at a theater! He did AWESOME! He sat and watched it just like a big kid!! He though he was cool sitting a few seats from me, but as the movie went on he ended up snuggled in with his mama! He is getting so big, but he is still my baby!

I had to laugh though because about five minutes into the movie he hands me his shoes... I figured no big deal.... Right?!?!

Well, about 10 minutes later he hands me his shirt and shorts! Silly boy! He said he was "hot", but once I explained he was NOT at home he put them back on! :)

Have any of you gone to see Up? I am a big fan of kids movies, but I did not like this one so much.... I thought it was boring... The end was sweet, but I was not digging this one.... Am I the only one?

We had a great afternoon. I so enjoy having one on one time with my babes and it does not happen as often as I like! Aside from the strip down, I would say it was the perfect first trip to the movies! I am sure we will be hitting up many, many more!

June 5, 2009

Can I say C-R-A-Z-Y?!?!?

This has been me for the last two days! I have been moody, the kids have been in rare form (its probably just me since I have been a BEAST!), and I just feel EXHAUSTED!!!! To fill you in on my so called life I'll start here:

  • Jason's wisdom teeth recovery has been FAB! He is doing great and by Tuesday night I would have never known he had them removed!
  • Wednesday I cleaned like REALLY cleaned! Scrubbed ceiling fans, base boards, that kind of clean! As I left each perfectly cleaned room, the kids entered it and TRASHED it! Why do I bother?!?
  • I took the kids up to the pool Wednesday evening and after about 20 minutes they wanted to go home.... It took me LONGER to get them ready for the pool!
  • Jason signed us up for the gym and workouts have begun....
  • After I put the kids to bed Wednesday night, I started picking up the toys strewn across the family room and discovered that Anthony had peed on the floor! I was ready to scream!!!!!!!
  • Thursday morning, I woke up and decided it was a new day and I was letting the previous days frustrations go..... Then Anthony bounded into our room laughing and said he peed in a bucket! What is the deal?!?!?!? The bathroom is RIGHT there! I flipped and lets just say everything aside from death has been threatened...... So far so good! ( I have been informed that this is a stage and a "boy" thing! This stage needs to END!)
  • Thursday we dropped the kids off at Kids Club in the gym.... They both cried. Madison cried because she didn't want to be left and Anthony cried because he wasn't ready to go home! Go figure!!!

This fabulous Friday has been much better I am pleased to report! Aside from the rain, the day has been good. Madison had her award ceremony at The Little Gym, Anthony and Jason grocery shopped, I did some shopping, and hit up the gym. I am getting ready to start dinner and the kids and I have a game night planned!

I no longer feel as though I want to rip each strand of hair out of my head one by one! :) (This is a good thing since Jason is back to work for 4 starting tonight!)

10 Reasons Anesthesia Makes Me Laugh

Jason had his Wisdom teeth removed today, the poor guy! He did entertain me though! :)
10 Reasons Anesthesia Makes Me Laugh

telling the oral surgeon that his office is "ghetto because there is tape on the ceiling"

picking nose for 20 minutes and insisting that something was there (there wasn't)

giggling uncontrollably about the "boobie splitter" (my seat belt!)

mumbling something incoherent only to say aloud "this must be an A to A conversation since you aren't listening" after a few minutes of silence

Begging to go to best buy to get the new "punch out Mike Tyson game"

Begging again as we pass by Wal-Mart

Insisting he could "totally drive home right now" (yeah okay)

"the sarcasm is so uh" (wait five minutes) 'unnecessary"

reminding me to get gas 5 minutes AFTER I got gas!!!

and last but not least:

Being able to see him look so crazy out of it!

*he's such a good sport, he even gave me picture approval! He is doing well so far! I hope he continues! :)

Pool Days

Today, the kids and I went to the pool for the first time this season and it was a SUCCESS!!!

In the past I have avoided the pool like the plague for a a variety of reasons:

  • I despise sitting in a wet bathing suit
  • I never felt comfortable with the two of them running around the pool and only one of me! Last summer Anthony was 2 1/2 and Madison 15 months so I was terrified of them getting away from me....
  • Anthony never liked the water. He just wanted to run AROUND the pool and would ALWAYS get whistled at by the lifeguards :(
  • The pool opened too late and interfered with my nap time!

Well, today I sucked it up and went and I am glad I did! The kids had a blast! Anthony got right in and had so much fun! Madison was a little hesitant, but she finally went in the "baby" pool. I think as the summer wears on she'll get more comfortable! :)

Of course I forgot my camera, but my friend Lisha came prepared and got some great shots of the kids :) Thanks girl!!!

I have a feeling we will be spending a good bit of time at the pool this year!
