I was tagged...

I was tagged by Melissa at My Little World: Choo-Choos, cars, and lipgloss to share 7 random facts... Let see what I can come up with....

1. I can eat pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week and still love it (as long as it is TRUE New York pizza)

2. Jason and I got married when I was 17 years old. He was 18. He joined the air force, moved to Colorado, and asked me to marry him. Saying yes was one of the best decisions I have EVER made... He is my best friend and we compliment each other well... He keeps me in line and I bring him out of his shell... Jason and I have known each other for more than half our lives. We have really "grown up" together.

3. I have a MS in Secondary Education, but the thought of actually being responsible for someones education scares me to DEATH!

4. I bite my nails. It is disgusting and I hate it, but I just can't stop!

5. I used to LOVE dancing until my legs hurt and the room spun!

6. My absolute favorite short story is "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson.

7. I love love love early American Literature. I majored in it and enjoy almost ALL of it.... NERD I know :)

I am not tagging anyone today, since I tagged a ton this week, but if you want to do it go for it! Thanks Melissa!

I read on a penny pinching diva about how to get 6 free Valentine cards with free shipping! They are super cute, so I wanted to share! Click here to check it out!post signature

Thoughts of the day....

1. As I scrubbed the bathroom floor, I ponder as to why it is so hard to actually hit the toilet. Does Anthony (and Jason, for that matter) pay attention to where they are aiming? Do I really need to issue a new family rule? "All member's of this family must at all times sit when using the bathroom regardless of age, sex, and creed!"

2. How is it that one family of four can make so much laundry? Seriously I have piles no make that MOUNDS of wash at all times. I feel like all I do is wash clothes, so how is it that there is always so much to do?

3. While watching Desperate Housewives on TiVo during nap I had an insane attack of the giggles. Gabby was shouting upstairs to her girls to come clean up. Of course they don't listen so she counts. At 3 nothing happens not a peep. She pauses then shouts "Do you hear me!" of course birth girls say yes.... I watched this scene over and over again because this is my life. My children NEVER listen. I laughed so hard I cried.... I have to reevaluate, because somethings just not working! ha

4. So, I am a LOST-aholic... Do any of you watch? I LOVE the show. It is mine and Jason's favorite show on TV. It's back and I'd love to hear thoughts. This show had me thinking most of the day. Can't wait to watch next week! Thoughts?

Wednesday Weigh In

On the brighter side... This morning when I stepped on the scale, I was DOWN 2 pounds exactly! Woohoo! Next week it will all be back after my trip, but TODAY I celebrate!

Operation Skinny Bitch: Roll Call Wednesday!

Its one of those days.

You know the kind. The kind where you just want to get back in bed and start OVER. In all honesty, it started out peachy. Anthony was happy. Madison was happy. I was happy. Then, it all just changed.

1. I got entirely frustrated with myself because I didn't realize my birth control pills didn't have any refills left. I call the doctor and request the refill, but I may not have it until Monday. That just isn't working for me. I leave Saturday and I NEED a new pack of pills Sunday.... See where I'm going? Thankfully, the peeps at my docs LOVE me. I was / am a PERFECT patient and I surprised them with goodies after I had the babes.... Anyway, I digress. Because they love me they are rushing it for me....

2. I am trying to get out the door. I have errands to run. Then we were headed to open gym. (The gymnastics center opens up for free play for wee ones during the day. My kiddos LOVE it) Anthony refuses to put on his socks. We battle. I say Fine I'm leaving with out you then. He frantically put on his socks! (Score one for team mom)

3. We get to CVS. My son acted like a loon. He would not listen and of course Madison follows suit. A kind old lady let me go ahead of her in line... :) (She probably was sick of listening to my heathens ha!)

4. Open gym time. Anthony was again not listening. He would do exactly what I asked him not to do and then run off with this crazy laugh he has! The gym lady even spoke to him a few times (very kindly) but he was having none of it. So after he fell to the ground for what FELT like the 1,000th time. We left. That's when he really lost its and smacked me in the face! Not once but lots of times. Somehow I kept my cool through it all.

5. Home. Lunch was a debacle. I had promised the McDonald's, but they lost that because of Ants behavior, so you know the scene I had when I gave them good old PB&J! (Yes, we were headed to fast food. I fell off the wagon. BUT I am not eating it as often!)

6. Nap is here and hopefully we all RELAX and the afternoon is better!

Its just one of those days. We all have them. I was due for one. I hadn't had a really bad one in a minute! Hope every one's morning has been better than mine!

The random thoughts of a three year old boy....

Right now, my son is checking out the things that are "shoved" in one of our front closets. God only know what he'll find! (I need to organize...its on the list) Anyway, he just pulled out a box and says:

"Here you go mommy, its a 'pecial delivery just for you. Its a birday blower (candle) for Katie. Mommy Katie my friend. uh oh, mommy i see da underbrella! YIKES"

The randomness.....

Now, he found a rock (a paper weight he painted, why its in the closet is BEYOND me) and is playing dinosaurs... :)

The Fluffy White Stuff!

We had the first "real" snow of the season today. Of course I was supposed to get my hair cut and highlighted today. If you know me, I DO NOT drive in the snow. Been there done that in Colorado, hit many curbs and busted many tires, so now I stay HOME! Needless to say, my hair has be postponed until one night this week!

We took the kids out to play and they had a BLAST! This was Madison's first time in the snow. She loved it.... She fell down a lot but she loved it all the same! I showed the kiddos how to make snow angels. Anthony did not like the snow falling in his face at first, (it was still snowing) but after he saw what he made he was all over it! Jason pummeled me with snow balls and my sweet boy Anthony informed his daddy "dats not nice daddy!!!" before joining in and splattering me with snow! :) All in all we had fun together as a family in the fluffy white stuff! I hope everyone is staying warm!

Down she goes!

Snowflakes in his face... oh no!

Today's Sillies

Anthony walks into my room this afternoon with BIG news!

"Mommy, eyes not a boys anymore. Eyes a young mans. Tay? Got it?!" and off he went!

*****

Jason and I were working out this morning while watching CNN. The TV caught the kids attention because Obama's train was pulling into Wilmington and all the people were cheering. I look over to tell the kids that it was the president and I see Madison waving and cheering at the TV along with all the supporters. She waved and cheered all the way to commercial. PRICELESS!

video

yeah... I am so pmsing....

Tonight Jason and I watched I Am Legend. (Great movie. One of the best I've seen in a while...) Anyway, the movie is kinda scary, definitely creepy, and very intriguing. Yeah, I cried like 5 different times :) Jason looked over and could not even believe I was CRYING! He so made fun of me...

On a side note, can I tell you how RIPPED Will Smith is :0 Whoa! I mean RIPPED!

I didn't get the memo!

Why didn't someone tell me?

The kids won't let me brush their teeth anymore. they want to do it! So, now their teeth look, well dingy.... Anthony has a monstrous meltdown when I attempt to brush them.... This week, I was in the grocery store and happened to see the kids spin brushes... I bought 2 a hot wheels and a hello kitty one...

I just have to say Thank you Zooth... You have made my life a TON easier and my kids teeth look clean once again! The best part, they want to brush multiple times a day now... I highly recommend! Though, you probably have already jumped on this bandwagon, I just missed the memo! :) Happy brushing!

No Cheating!

I've been tagged by Cynthiaa to do an 'on the spot' picture. :) Here are the rules:

1) Take a picture of yourself right NOW!
2) DON'T change your clothes; DON'T fix your hair... Just take a picture.
3) Post that picture with NO editing.
4) Post these instructions with your picture.
5) Tag 10 people to do this..

You like me, you really like me.....

spoken in true Sally Field fashion!

I'm so excited! My first award.... Amber at Kiss My Cheek awarded me this award and she has made my night, who am I kidding, my week! Thank you!!! You should check her out! She is super sweet and her blog and the new face lift are awesome... I desperately want to do mine now!

Here are the rules...The rules for the Honest Scrap award - The honorees are to:

A) first list 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep!

B) pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap.

Simple. Or not.

1. I am very superstitious. Its silly, really, but I can't help it. I try to avoid all cracks, I wish when it's 2:22, I cross my fingers and toes, I knock on wood... you get the pic. I am loony! :)

2. When I get dressed each morning, I try on no less than 3 pants and 5 shirts. Sadly, I usually end up wearing the first thing I tried on...

3. After I had Anthony and Madison, I would hide in the bathroom reading magazines while pretending to potty just to get a few minutes of peace. Jason thought I was really sick! :P

4. I was extremely sad when the old Baby Center went to read only. I felt like I lost an old friend... I still miss that site!

5. I love to read birth stories. I could read them all day. Even though I don't know the people, their stories usually make me cry happy tears.... :0

6. I am a worrier. I worry A LOT! I usually worry about silly things too....

7. I cannot leave the grocery store without buying AT LEAST one trashy tabloid.

8. Some nights I get struck with the need to wake my kids and just hold them....

9. I LOVE cranking the radio to Madonna's greatest hits and dancing until I fall on the floor!

10. I love the songs from The Backyardigans and I sing them often....

That was really hard! Here are my seven:

Cynthiaa: I just started reading her blog, and its great! I am obsessing over her layout... It is TOO cute!

Jen: She visits me regularly (which I LOVE) and she shares awesome tips, stories, and deals with her readers!

Jen: I'm glad you came back to the world of blog....

Lisha: Two words: Loves It!

Mary: Your private so I won't linky, but you ROCK!

Megan: Her word of the day usually makes me laugh. So far, I have not been guilty (notice the so far)

Sara: I think its great that you are sharing with everyone great ways to save $$$

Wednesday Weigh In

Its Wednesday, so I gotta weigh in... I am about the same. 2 ounces more than last week, but that can change hour to hour... I am STUCK though! I just can't seem to get any lower!! This week I have added some strength training in with my cardio, so I am hoping this is the extra little push I need to drop some more! I also need to get better about eating at night! I was doing so good, but I have fallen off the wagon lately! :)

Operation Skinny Bitch: Wednesday Roll Call!

January 13, 2009

My Girl

Madison:

1. Has been dry all day... Asked to go potty 3 times and I took her a bunch! (She did poo once this morning though!)

2. Was screaming this "I am hurt and you better come help me scream" after I put her down for nap. Upon inspection, I found her with no pants on, no diaper, and her arms and head were twisted and stuck in her shirt. She couldn't get free.

3. When I rescued her she asked to go "peepee" and went a TON!

4. She is getting so big, so brave, and it makes me a little sad....

It's that time again....

American Idol... ugh! I know I am in the minority, but I do NOT like this show AT ALL!!! I don't know why, I just can't stand it. I am dreading the OMG did you see AI last night convos and my mom telling me every. single. detail. about the top how ever many. Maybe its because I don't like the music I really couldn't tell you. I never got on the bandwagon and I don't think I ever will. Now, if you wanna talk So You Think You Can Dance, well then your ON! :)

January 12, 2009

As we all know....

I have been trying to lose all the extra poundage I have gained from birthing babes and quitting smoking.... I am doing pretty good thus far. Ideally, I would love to look a ton thinner, but I am pleased with my progress thus far....

My friend Lisha has been busting her butt (you go girl) with Jillian... Currently Jillian is on Comcast's On Demand. I was intrigued, so Jillian and I had a date...

I have to say I liked the work out... It was tough, but not totally killer and it was a nice diversion from the elliptical. I think I will be dating Miss Jillian much more often! The push ups about killed me and I could not stand the side lunges, but other wise I was golden. Let's see how if I can get out of bed in the morning!

My son is my entertainment....

He just went potty and came out with no undies....

"Hey mom... you see da penis? I has a bi.. a wittle penis!"

Then he laughed this crazy laugh and ran upstairs. I said nothing... :0

God help me when he starts preschool....

Today has been FABULOUS!!!!

Its been crazy, but it has been AWESOME!

1. Anthony is a BEAST when it comes to getting his haircut. It is sooooo BAD that the last time the lady suggested I give him benadryl (!?!?) to "calm him down some" What EVER! Anyway today he got his hair cut and did not shed a SINGLE tear. There was no fighting, screaming, obnoxiousness. He sat there like a perfect little angel (Well... until they tried to use the clippers around his ears. He told her what he thought about that :0) I didn't even care though. I was / am just thrilled he got his haircut without sending both of us into a full blown anxiety attack! I am so very proud of him!!!

2. Madison had speech this morning (Jason had to cover this) and Mrs. Becky just gushed about how wonderful and adorable Madison is.... When people LOVE your kids it just makes you day! She said she is doing "super and progressing right along!" YAY MAD!

3. We hit the gym this morning (open gymnastics for the little ones) and they had a GREAT time... Jason was finally able to see Little Miss jump on the trampoline like such a big girl. Anthony had fun with all of the friends he has made there...

4. We celebrated Anthony's fabulousness with lunch at Ruby Tuesday's and it was perfect. No one misbehaved and we all just enjoyed each others company... It was a perfect end to my FABULOUS morning. I hope this afternoon is just as AWESOME!

January 11, 2009

silence....

FINALLY!

Anthony was yelling downstairs for quite a while... He would shout totally random things hoping I would lay in "antneys bed mommy...pweeeeeese"

I heard (in no particular order):

I cold... brrrr its freezey
Mommy I think I sneezey
Look out! Look out a freight car! Mommy a freight car see it?!?!
Mom... mom... ared you dere?
Hey mommy... I have a pilwoe fir you, see it?
Hmmm... how bout a... story? Yes a story again 'k mom?

These random thoughts continued for at LEAST 30 minutes.... I surfed the netz all the while cracking up more and more with each random blurb... Since I am a mom now, I was pretending to be serious and I continued to sternly remind him that it is bedtime... :)

This made me giggle....

Cup of Tea

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a gift and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!' My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up.

Then she says, (as only a mother would know.. :)"Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"

Third Child?

This morning I woke up to Jason frantically poking my shoulder....
Jason: Hey...
Me: (grumpy) What!
Jason: Your not pregnant RIGHT?!?!?
Me: (looking at him as if he has LOST his mind) Uh... NO!
Jason: Okay good! I had a nightmare that you were 12 days late.... (He then rolls over and goes back to sleep)

Of course, I was wide awake wondering if he really is closed to having another child. I am not sure WHAT I want, but I have not yet made any definite decisions..... I do know that I so could not handle a third child at the moment, but in 3 years... who knows?!?! What a way to start my Sunday!

January 10, 2009

totally bragging but....

Madison woke up from nap dry and has only had one teeny tiny accident so far today! Now, the flood gates will open but I had to share!

Crocs Deal

My kids LIVE in Crocs ALL summer long. I love them for the kids... crocs.com has a TON of Crocs on sale in their outlet. I bought Anthony and Madison each a pair of the Disney Caymans for $14.99. They are 50% off right now. They have a ton of colors and sizes left. Also if you enter the code

fall08lookbook

you will get free shipping. I hope ours are here before Disney!

Mission Accomplished

I have been on the hunt for shoes... I have been super picky! Finally, today I found the ones. Oh they are D.I.V.I.N.E. (Mandy, if you are reading this, they are my beloved Rocket Dogs... lol I know you are cringing) Oh I LOVE them. Most will think they are hideous, but I <3 them. (I am always harassed about my ugly shoes he he he) Now, all I have to do is find a pair of black flats that I adore and I am golden!!!

I also have to share that I purchased a pair of Gap size :drum roll please: 6 Yes, you are seeing that correctly a size freaking 6 WOOHOO!!!! I have not seen a 6 in quite some time!!!! The best part (other than the size) was, they were on sale for $14.99 and they are da bomb diggity no doubt!

The last of my joyous purchases were a sweat shirt and thermal from AE for 11 bucks a piece.... AE is having a major sale....

I am on a major retail therapy high!!

Little Miss

has been injured yet again! She was jumping on the couch last night and as Jason went to get her down she fell forward and cracked her head on the coffee table.... There was no blood, but her head was dented :0

The nurses line told me to take her to the ER, but paged the doc first... (thankfully) He just wanted me to watch her since she didn't need stitches... (I was glad because I did not want to sit in the ER on a Friday night!!)

She has a big old bump, but she is being her same little monkey self. She is my one who is going to cause me many gray hairs and lots of panic attacks! Madison is my wild one! :)

January 9, 2009

I'm so excited...

I just put in our room request for Disney! We are staying at the Polynesian and I have requested a 3rd floor balcony monorail view room. I hope I get it!!! Anthony will DIE if he can sit on the balcony and watch the monorail pass.... Fingers and toes are crossed!!!

meanies

Today we went to a local indoor playground and had a BLAST! The kids had a great time. There were no more than 6 kids there at any given time so it was really nice!!

About a half hour before we left, 2 moms came with their kids and sat down chatting away. They were so not watching their kids. Well, one of the little boys clocked Anthony in the head / face with this long strip he ripped up from a mat. Anthony's poor face and ear were bright red and he cried... I think that was the first time a kid was actually purposely mean to him. In his 3 short years he has never been hurt by another child on purpose, (by accident yes, but never on purpose) Ant got over it quickly, but I felt bad for him... poor guy.

The mom apologized by the way (good for her) but did NOT even correct her kid.... (He continued hitting kids with the strip.....)

January 8, 2009

"nash"

NASH This is what I have heard for the last three days OVER and OVER again. Nash... What's nash you ask? That's Madison speak for Princess Fruit Snacks.

Madison saw them in a sale paper and pointed and said "dis" about a million times. Well, Tuesday I food shopped and bought them for her as a treat...

Before the groceries were put away she was ripping bags apart looking for them saying nash all the while. I gave her one, but she wanted another... and another, and another (you get the point...

She now stands in front of the cupboard and cries nash ALL day long (okay I am exaggerating a bit, but it seems like all day) Nash is driving me crazy!! I will NEVER buy them again because it is NOT worth the fight! She is one determined little princess though.... :) I <3 that little stinker....

One Accident

Madison has been in panties ALL day and has only had one accident! She did great! She wants to potty like her hero, Anthony! :)

Wednesday Weigh In

A New Year a New Weigh In.... drumroll please: I am UP (grrr) 4 ounces. Not too bag, but not great. I hope to report some loses next week!

All you Disney Professionals I need your HELP!?!?!

So I spent most of my 3 hour nap time on the phone or planning our Disney Dining Reservations. What A task!!!!! So this is what I have so far:

Sunday: Arrival no meals plans
Monday: Lunch at Crystal Palace
Tuesday: Breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Wednesday: Breakfast at 'Ohana
Thursday: Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine Dinner at Coral Reef
Friday: Breakfast at Tusker House and Dinner at 1900 Park Fare
Saturday we are meeting up with peeps
Sunday we will be leaving so no plans....

Thoughts? This is all so overwhelming and frustrating and CONFUSING! UGH!!!!

Early Exposure to Technology....

Jason has the new blackberry that is touch screen. To look at pictures you slide your finger across the screen like you would on the iPhone. My kids LOVE looking at the pictures on his phone and do it often. Madison just had my blackberry (the old one) and brought it to me. She was sliding her finger across the screen and telling me it was "boke" because the picture wasn't changing! The things kids know today....

January 6, 2009

Reason 317 Everything I do I have to start and restart over and over again!

Woohoo!!! I am a winner!!

I was the winner of a Disney Fun Pack giveaway featured on Jen's blog (Another Online Mom) Her blog is great, you should check it out!! Right now she is sharing some of her money saving tips... This prize couldn't have come at a better time as we are leaving for Disney in 2 1/2 weeks! Thanks Jen, we loved everything!!!

Believe

The kids and I were walking through the mall yesterday and Anthony asked to have nuggets (McDonald's) for lunch. I said no that we were eating lunch at home. He stopped in the middle of the store and said:

"Come on Mooooom, you gotta beweave!!!"

A lady close by started to giggle. I just shook my head. What do you say to that... lol!

*In case you are wondering... my top oven is up and running! I am off to the grocery store to get some food this morning! I can now return to my gourmet cooking...not!*

January 5, 2009

NEWS FLASH!!!

Some of my oven parts came today! Hopefully, there is enough here to get at least one of the two working!!!

I just want to add....

I am very thankful and grateful for the help Madison is getting with her speech. Our speech lady is FANTASTIC! The woman who came today's job is to hook me up with activities / groups in the community, but I am already active in a lot of groups so it is pointless and useless for me. I do appreciate all the help o-3 has given my family thus far... (I just hate these stupid pointless meetings!)

What are my odds?

That the birth to three lady doesn't show up? Thank goodness for my calendar on my phone. It dinged just as I pulled in the driveway reminding me about an appointment I had scheduled for 1:00 today with our care coordinator.... (I pulled in the driveway at 12:50)I hurried and fed the kids lunch, put them to nap, and here I sit. I'm in NO mood for this meeting... It truly is pointless. The last time she was here I heard all about her problems.... So what are my odds? It's 1:14 and she still isn't here....

ETA: She just pulled in! UGH

It's official!

Madison is out of her crib... Yesterday, I woke up to her barging in my room, when I went to get her from nap her legs were over the bar, and this morning she was banging on her door! So she is REALLY out! I am not ready for her to be out of her crib! Anthony was nearly 2 1/2 before he even attempted to climb out! She isn't even 2 yet!!! I guess the crib will be converted to a toddler bed when Jason is off work and we will be losing sleep because she will be unconfined! Miss Madison is getting too big!!!

January 4, 2009

Happy 2009!!

Well, a new year has begun and it has already been busy! I turned 31... (ouch, I am officially IN my thirties!!!!), my parents came to visit, and I feel like I haven't sat down once!!! It has been a good busy though!

My oven is still broken (grrr...) We received an email today saying the parts have been back ordered.... so who know when I will have an oven again! One of my dearest friends took pity on me and brought me cupcakes on my birthday even though she didn't feel like getting out of bed! She didn't want me to go cupcakesless since she knows they are my FAVE!!! She is so awesome and everyone needs a friend like her :)

I have thought long and hard about my goals for this year:
  • I want to eat out LESS a lot less. Food out is 10 times worse for me than anything I can cook!
  • I need to become better organized! I have set up my blackberry to assist me in this momentous task!!!
  • I want to "play" with my children MORE instead of being busy doing "other" things.... Cleaning, laundry, outside commitments can wait, Anthony and Madison will only be this little once! Soon they will be off to school....
  • I want to be overall healthier... I think I am well onto my way with this goal. I just need to keep it up!

I hope everyone's New Year has been off to a great start!!!!
