Is it Tuesday already?!?

Really? WOW did this holiday weekend go by way too fast! The weather was PERFECT all weekend! The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and life was good!

Late Friday night my parents arrived into town after a pretty horrific standstill on 95, but they made it! Safely!!

Saturday morning the kids bounced out of bed to see grandmom and pop pop! Oh how happy they were! Anthony wouldn't stop talking and my dad can get Madison laughing like NO One else! I was not the least bit hesitant leaving the kids because they are just soo happy with my parents!!

Saturday afternoon we hit the highway and headed to Harrisburg, PA. What a neat little city! They had an arts festival all weekend along the river and it was pretty cool!! We spent the afternoon wandering around and getting a feel of the neighborhood. The architecture was stunning.... I LOVE old building and churches!!!

We decided we would have a few drinks and head up to the hotel and change before our BIG night out! We had stumbled upon The Firehouse restaurant and decided to eat our KID FREE dinner there!!! OMG!!! D.E.V.I.N.E! We had crab puffs for an appetizer and the were fantabulously delicious!!!

After dinner we wandered around and had a few more drinks! It was a perfect night! We were sleepy ans so wanted to take advantage of the chance for uninterrupted sleep!! No one was going to wake us up at 6!! WOOHOO!!!

Just as we were settling into bed.... all snuggled in, bed just resting on the pillows, the room PERFECTLY dark... we heard it! If your a parent you KNOW that sound.... The WAIL of a newborn baby!!! OMG I just wanted to die! Of course we were put in the room next to an infant!! We, the couple trying to get away from parenting for a mere 24 hours, got placed in a room next to a wailing baby! It was quite funny!!! We both just laughed, turned on the TV and went to sleep! So much for the quiet, but we could totally sympathize!

We both slept great until about 6:30 when we heard the wailing infants sibling start running around and screaming with joy.... Go figure! :) We have been there so I can relate, but oh how I longed to sleep til 10! lol!

We had a fantastic little getaway, but it was nice to get home! The rest of the weekend sailed by without a hitch and our visit was nice. We all had a great time! My parents left this morning and both the kids were very upset, so I know a Myrtle Beach trip is in our cards much sooner than I expected!

I hope everyone's summer started with a bang!

I am so glad you had a wonderful getaway with your husband :) It sounded like a great time (minus the infant crying) lol.

OMG that is so ironic (I'm sorry about the kids next door!) When we went out we stopped at an outlet mall and I swear there were kids in strollers fussing EVERYWHERE I turned - NOT relaxing :-) But I'm glad you were able to laugh it off and enjoy! (Try Bedford Springs next time - mostly everyone there is old!)
