I can't sleep. I feel like MAJOR crap. Anthony came to my bed, so I rolled out with my new toy (I love my netbook, in case you missed it), drank some more NyQuil, and here I lay (or is it lie) surfing the webz peacefully and I come across this.
So little Dora, it girl of the pre-school / toddler set, is all grown up? Seriously?!?! Madison has just started LOVING Dora. She's spunky, adventurous, kind, all around positive role model, and did I say spunky? Now she's gonna transform into another tweeny bopper? Don't our girls have enough Hannah Montana, Bratz, and whatever else tween marketing crap is out there? Really, my two year old (whom this show was initially geared towards) does NOT need to be introduced to shopping, fashion, and the art of accessorizing so soon. Really, we will get to that soon enough! Why can we not just let them be little? And we wonder why our kids "think" they are so much older than which they really are... We are forcing them to grow up! First its 2-4 year olds watching tween Dora, then its 5-9 year olds obsessing over Gossip Girl (love the show, but not appropriatefor young girls and just an example), what's next? Let's let our kids be little! They will grow up fast enough as it is.... Okay, rant OVER!

Saying hi from SITS! It really is terrible how they want little girls to grow up. The shirts that say Flirt and Boy Crazy for three year olds irratate me so badly...
You are absolutely right- we encourage them to grow up too fast and then complain when they do. What a shame about Dora.
lol at your nyquil post. I LOVE nyquil btw. I take it when I'm not sick and just need to go to bed early. Hmm that makes me sound kinda druggy-ish.

Totally agree! I can't stand the whole Bratz thing. They are really just a bunch of little hookers, those Bratz, aren't they? Anyway, feel better soon. Gotta love the Nyquil.
