Walgreens is da bomb diggity... no doubt!

I have been meaning to refill my anti baby pills ALL week, but I kept pushing it off and pushing it off... Needless to say I never refilled them. Tonight I was supposed to start a new pack but I didn't have any freakin' pills! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Jason thought Walgreens was open 24 hours, I knew the store was but surly there is no pharmacists on duty... BUT there was! He said my pills would be ready in five minutes! That pharmicist is my new hero!!! I will now be a loyal Walgreens custome...well... until CVS sends me a $25 gift card to transfer! ;) (My birth control will stay at Walgreens though!!)

Out of the mouths of babes...

Today, in the rain, we were at the nursery picking out our wreath. As we went in to pay, Anthony spied an old fashioned wooden wagon. He of course bee lined for it... When he grabbed the handle he yelled in a goofy voice, "Tarnations! It's a wagon mommy! Yee Haw!" Where does he get this stuff?!?!?!

I have become OBSESSED!

With homemade tutus... I have read and reread the directions and I *think* I can make one. I really want one... well like 10 for Miss Pris. I heart them! I am going to try and buy some tulle this week and have at it. According to the peeps who make them, they take about an hour to make...

The stress of it all....

Every year I plan, I coordinate, I stress over, and invest WAY too much energy into THE Christmas card. I am a FREAK! I begin thinking of ideas in August (I know I am CRAZY!) The process is ALWAYS a disaster. My best year was when Anthony was about 13 months... he cooperated, but now not so much! Anthony and Madison never gel, the usually fight, and I am ALWAYS let down. I usually have my cards in the mail the day after Thanksgiving, but not this year... I have been freaking about it ALL weekend... Loser I know!

This year I wanted them to spell out JOY with their bodies... ha! They did the O and the Y but the J was impossible... They are just too little and my expectations are too high! :) One day I will learn.

After about 500 shots and some serious editing, this year's cards are now complete. They weren't what I was going for, but they are still super cute! They have been ordered and I will mail them out as soon as I get them! That sound you hear... is me breathing a sigh of RELIEF! :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Yesterday we took advantage of the nice day and decorated our outside... The fall things went away and Jason and I went to work. He put up lights, I cut back the last of my plants, and the kids terrorized us and the neighbors the whole time... We were outside ALL morning! I LOVE that!! I CANNOT stand to be cooped up in the house! )The fresh air wore my kids out.. (They slept until almost 10 this morning!! WOOHOO)

Once it was dark and the lights came on, we took the kids out to see them and they were sooo excited! Anthony ran up to Jason and said "Tank you daddy! Me loves lights! Its bootiful!"

After dinner the kids got bathed and the tree went up (along with all the other decorations!) Anthony loved hanging everything and Madison loved taking everything off! In the end the tree looks great even though all the ornaments are clumped together...

This was the first year I hung our stockings on the mantle and it looks so AWESOME! (I never had stocking holders and my stockings were crappy. Last year I splurged and got some from PB Kids and I heart them!!!)

All in all it was a great family day...

I am Thankful....

my daughter learned a new word: BOOGIE! :0

Anthony's Antics

Anthony was sick over the weekend. Poor Jason (note the sarcasm) had to clean up barf a few times. Apparently Anthony freaked when he vomited and made the mess even worse... poor little man.

Fast Forward to tonight at bedtime. My very tired three year old was fighting going to bed (he never does this...) Finally, I tucked him in and left his room. All was quiet.... As I surfed the internetz I hear a pathetic little whine / cry and the dreaded words "I sick mommy"... Upstairs I went dreading what I was going to walk in on....

As I crossed the threshold I was waiting for the smell(you all know that smell) but nothing (woo hoo) But no we were not in the clear, not yet.... He made a gagging sound and said "I sicks mom" He gagged some more and asked in his oh so quiet, sweet, little voice "Mommy, I sick. I can sleep on the couches and watch TV now" and hidden behind this sick face was a grin... Yes! A F.R.E.A.K.I.N.G. grin! He totally was trying to fake me out! My three year old was faking sick so he could stay up and watch TV! What is up with that?!?!?

He has arrived!

The elf that is....
Last year, my dear old friend and former boss, bought my family The Elf on the Shelf for Christmas... I was trying to create some family traditions and she thought the elf would be a neat one to start... My grandmother had elves that looked similar on her Christmas tree when I was little and this elf makes me think of her :)

Well, tonight while the kiddos are asleep the elf will arrive for the kids to find in the morning... We will read the story tonight and think of some names for our little elf friend... I think our elf will be a bit mischievous tonight and spill some pancake mix on the counter.... So inspire me, give me some ideas of fun ways to hide our elf for the next few weeks!!!

Happy Turkey Day!!!

Thanksgiving isn't my favorite holiday, but I do like how it sets the ball in motion for my FAVE Christmas!!!!!! Jason's working tonight :( and sleeping today, so I have been flying solo.... The kids were in jammies til nap (I had to dress them so they can be "dressed" for dinner) and I have been cooking away.... I went to set the table when I realized I do not have the necessary accessories to set a "proper" table... I will be on the hunt now for ALL things pretty so that I can have a pretty table for the holidays....

I hope everyone has a Fab day with their family and loved ones!

My son is a goof...

Anthony cracks me up... Right now, I am listening to him as he has a full fledged conversation with himself. The funny part is is that he is SOUND asleep. He is sitting up in his bed talking...
A: No thank you.
A: No I no like it.
A: something unintelligible...
A: Maaaad...
It's crazy. He wanders, chatters, shouts, cries, even laughs.... It used to freak me out (Especially the laughter) but now I'm used to it. I just walk him back to bed, retuck him in, and giggle!

WOOHOO!!!!

I am addicted to Gymboree. I heart their clothes. They can be $$ but I just scored MAJORLY!!! (I ALWAYS buy their clothes on sale) I bought... drum roll please...

1 winter coat for M
1 winter hat for M
1 set of mittens for M
2 fleece jackets for M
1 pair of jeans for A
1 pair of fleece pants for M

For a grand total of: $66.83 ($56.55 pre tax and shipping)

I also earned a $25 gymbuck....

I know my purchases look completely one sided, but Anthony has way more than Madison at the moment and I bought his winter coat a few weeks ago.... The winter coats are only $14 if your kiddos are in need of one!

Note To Self: NO SOCKS ON STAIRS!!!

Last night, I was in the kitchen, Anthony was coloring and Madison was upstairs playing.... All was quiet. All was well. The next thing I new, I heard Madison toss a BIG toy down the stairs. I heard it hit every step as it bounced and tumbled down. I ran in the foyer and it wasn't a toy that fell! It was my baby.... If you could have heard the way it sounded as she tumbled down... :( She screamed for a while, but she finally calmed down. There are no serious injuries (THANK GOD), but she does have a bunch of bruises, red marks, and some swelling on her sweet little face. :( There is a new rule in our house: Two choices sneakers or bare feet. No more socks only!!! (Just in time for our Christmas cards!!!)

10 facts from my FANTASTIC Weekend in Charleston, SC

1. An 11:20 flight out of DC is PERFECT! There is hardly any traffic!!!
2. The BEST Italian food is served at Mercato! They have a champagne cocktail that is To. Die. For. They home make their pasta, and there is NO word to describe their Tiramisu!
3. I visited the holy grail (Williams - Sanoma)WAY too many times, but LOVED every second!!
4. King Street Shopping is AWESOME!
5. The homes are STUNNING! I would love to live in one...
6. It was MUCH colder than anticipated, but no rain and it was nice on Monday!
7. I feel really old when in bars next to college girls....
8. All of the previous mentioned college girls weighed less than 90 pounds and really needed to eat a cupcake... or ten!
9. I learned I can still drink and not suffer a major hangover...
10. Children do NOT allow you to ease in to being home. I hit the ground running this morning!!!

********

We had a great time. The trip was relaxing and a whole lot of fun! It was just the break I needed to gear up for the busy soon to be here holidays... (I will post pics when I get them off my camera!)
We got in super LATE last night. I was EXHAUSTED!!! All the walking wore me out this weekend It was so nice to snuggle in with the kids this morning... There is nothing like breathing in your babies when you haven't seen them in a while. Bliss.

I had to giggle because Jason had to deal with the sickies this weekend. It seems like he is always working overnights when the kids get sick, so it was so his turn. Anthony barfed a few times, had some poo issues, and just felt yucky. Poor guy.... He still wasn't himself today, but at least there were no abnormal body fluids exiting today.... I snuggled up in bed with him during nap today and we slept most of the afternoon away... It was so nice!

So many birthdays!

As of tomorrow morning I am off to celebrate Sara's 30th birthday (he he he your old now too) and for some much needed R&R! I want to wish a handsome little fellow a happy 5th (OMG when did he get so big!) birthday! I wish I could be there to give his momma hugs!!!

Currently

I am quite annoyed with my strong will child for ruining my second child's last music class and making her miss out on receiving her First Certificate!

I am memorizing this quote about strong willed children "These children have a strong sense of independence. In many ways this is very positive because individuals who are independent are typically assertive, confident, determined, and persistent" (Parenting the Strong-Willed Child). When he is big he will be great, he's just so damn trying sometimes!!!! I feel like I live in a perpetual test....

I am listening to Madison grunt, moan, and whine to Murray because she is trying to get him to eat his dog food and he's not hungry...

I see my son standing at the bottom of the steps, throwing a soccer ball up and catching it as it bounces down. I should stop this, things may get broken, but quite frankly I DON"T CARE because he is occupied and out of my hair!

I am freaking out because I have so much to do, yet I sit here on the internetz instead of tackling my ever increasing "To DO" list!

Now said strong-willed child is hugging his sister singing Barney's "I Love You" song.... how can I be annoyed now?!?!

Off to do something productive *gasp*

Kindred Spirits

A: "Mom... Mom... Mommy.... Where ard you?"
S: *stumbling blindly to his room* "Ant, its TOO early. The sun isn't shining yet."
A: "I go to Mommy's bed?"
S: *yawn*
A: "Come on, Mommy."
into bed we go.....
S: "Go to sleep, the sun isn't shining... No talking or singing k?"

beginning to fall asleep...

A: "Mad bigger now?"

S: *with eyes still closed getting slightly annoyed* "Yes, Madison is bigger, now go to sleep!"

rolling over and trying to sleep....

A: "Mad going ride the roller coaster? We ride the mamawhale (monorail) and the Ferris wheel and the train too! Mommy? Come on mom, Mad ride Bob the Builder scoop too!"
S: "Not today, its too cold. We only ride the rides in the summer. We have music today..."

silence....

5 minutes later

A: "Let's go Mommy, its summer now. We ride the roller coaster now..."
Finally, I gave up!

We had season passes to Dutch Wonderland (I heart that place) and the kids LOVED it. I can't wait until next year to get them again... Apparently, Anthony is like me and wants it to be summer again... kindred spirits :)

I. Hate. The. Cold.

Domesticated Diva

Madison LOVES to be my helper! She is always right behind me imitating the cleaning I do and redo day after day... . I love it, she does all the cleaning with a great big smile... lol! I could take some lessons from her! This afternoon, she was "helping" me fold clothes. Note: the dishtowel apron she made me attach with a scrunchy!

ha, ha, ha, he, he, he, come on get silly and laugh with me....

because its either laugh or cry! :) I mopped my hardwood in the kitchen this morning... It took forever; it was really dirty! :( (I would have died if anyone saw it) When I was done it shined! It was nice to have something clean for once. There were no stickies, spills, crayon marks. Just clean shiny hardwood. It was great while it lasted....

Madison dumped her WHOLE bowl of Mac & Cheese on the floor at lunch (on purpose too)! Just now, Anthony drank out of the wrong sippy. Tasted milk and spit the WHOLE mouthful...you guessed it... ON THE FLOOR! (he DETESTS he he he Milk) I just giggle... (its that or cry and I am so not in the crying mood today!) One day I will miss these messes :)

Detest

I. Detest. The. Winter!!!!!!

It's too cold. I hate the gloom. I need to be outside in the fresh air and sunshine!!!!! God help me, its not even December yet!

Detest. I like this word. I think it clearly illustrates the what the speaker is expressing. Detest. Detest. I don't think it is used quite enough.... I think I have a new found appreciation for the word detest... hmmm I may have to add this to my daily vocab. Like, Jason, I detest the way you brush your teeth in the shower. Or, Anthony, I detest the way you pee on the floor when you try to pee like an elephant.... Murray, I detest your barking at nap time.... Detest. My word of the day!

So what do you detest?

PS I am still kinda sick (in case you were wondering)

Wednesday Weigh In

I cant believe its already that time! A week goes by fast...

I want to preface by saying...

1. I have been and still am sick, so I have slacked majorly in the exercise department this week
2. My lovely AF is due to arrive ANY second!!!!

so... I am up 0.6 pounds... :(

Oh well, there is always next week. (Though, it may be a bad week since I am going out of town Friday and will be eating like crap!) Though really 0.6 ponds is nothing so I am not going to be upset! :)

A boy and his Daddy...

Jason went back to work today. He works 12's and with the commute he is gone about 14 hours... When he works, the kids don't see too much of him and they miss him terribly; especially Anthony. Tonight in the tub Anthony starts asking about Jason...

A: Momma, where daddy go?
M: He's at work, but he'll be home after our bath.
A: Green truck green truck where a you?
M: He didn't take the green truck today babe...
A:No green truck today?
M: Nope, not today.
A: After tubby, I go look for daddy with my anoculairs?
M:Sure you can use your binoculars....

We finish our bath, get dressed, and Anthony rushes down the stairs and watches out the front door. Every time he sees car lights, he starts screaming "Daddy coming!!!" Then he is so disappointed when its not him.... He will be here soon though!

P.S.

I am still sick! off to nap while the babes nap....

I'm just gonna do it...

Brag that is... Anthony and Madison walked the balance beams BY THEMSELVES today. Anthony even did a little jump on there... Anthony has also gotten quite good at the trampoline... Madison is getting braver by the second... I am proud of them!

November 16, 2008

UGH....

I think I'm getting sick :( I HATE being sick. I CAN NOT be sick. Not this week. I have WAY too much going on this week. (MOPS, Operation Christmas Child shopping, The Little Gym, Music, plus I am going out of town, so I need to have everything organized and ready for Jason...) UGH...

My head hurts, my eyes are puffy, my nose it stuffed, and I just plain look and feel like crap!! I am taking a hot bath, guzzling NyQuil, and going nighty night EARLY! Hopefully, I will be feeling better in the morning!

The couch is calling me....

Young Hollywood

I have a slight obsession with celeb news, gossip, and train wrecks. It amuses me. I know I am mean... (In my defense I love when good things happen too) BUT, the latest from Hollywood's latest Hot mess makes me giggle... If only they had captured it on film...

November 14, 2008

Blissfully Domesticated

Tonight, my MOPS group got together and made chocolate covered pretzels. I had a lot of fun. It was a relaxing night... I had some good adult interaction, some laughs, and I so stuffed myself with yummy food... (I will be crying when I step on the scale in the morning!) I had fun making my uber pretty pretzels. I have been admiring them since I've been home. Jason thinks I'm weird, but I enjoy them...

I heart being domesticated. It doesn't suit everyone, but I LOVE it... I had romanticized what staying at home would be like. I envisioned a June Cleaver, Martha Stewart type life filled with crafting, baking, and creating... It is so not, but when I have those few and far between Mini Martha Moments (MMM) I like to savor them and enjoy them to their fullest!

November 13, 2008

Taste Testers

I promised Anthony we would make cookies tonight, so after dinner we got at it. I pushed chairs to the counter and two little helpers climbed up. I dropped in the butter, they took turns putting in the sugars. I turned to get the vanilla and Madison seized the opportunity in front of her. She grabbed one stick of butter and ate 1/4 of it... All I kept hearing was "mmmm" over and over again!

Oh Ma Gawd, Becky...

Holy cow! This morning was the first morning in a LOOOONG time I have not had to squat and bounce to loosen up my jeans to avoid the spray painted on look....

November 12, 2008

guilt

The one aspect of motherhood that has surprised me most since becoming a mother is the guilt I feel nearly always. The guilt creeps in almost every day just after I have put the kids to bed and I am surrounded by silence. It seems to be the few minutes that my day stops and I can just be... The guilt is always there, but I am too busy to really feel it. In these few silent moments it consumes me... Then life begins again. The phone rings, the dog barks, life continues and the moment passes. Lost, until tomorrow...

I feel guilty that I didn't play enough today.
I feel guilty because I yelled.
I feel guilty because Madison does not get near as much one on one as Anthony once did.
I feel guilty that Anthony no longer has my undivided attention.
I feel guilty because I was on the phone instead of on the floor with them.
I feel guilty because I didn't read "Goodnight Moon" the twelfth time even though Anthony begged me too.
I feel guilty because they didn't eat enough veggies.
I feel guilty because i did not fully appreciate every single moment.

When I feel this guilt, I just want to run upstairs grab both of my babies, hold them tight and live in the moment.... Each night I vow that I will be better. Then, the day begins and it is more of the same. I strive to be perfect, but perfection is not possible. I know I do my best, but I often feel that it is not enough...

Guilt. This is what has surprised me most since becoming a mother.

Wednesday Weigh In

Its that time again.... weigh in Wednesday... I am down :drum roll please: 1.2 pounds! I am a little less than 3 pounds from my first goal, and 8 pounds from my current goal... YAY!!!

November 11, 2008

In the midst of my travels...

online today, I came across a woman who collects KitKats. Apparently they make different flavors in Japan... Who Knew?!?! Watermelon... yucko!

Bobby.... Where are you?!?!?

This is what I have heard all morning... Anthony repeatedly calling this school aged child.
"Come on Bobby... Let's play basketball"
"Bobby? Bobby? Where are you?"
"Nice shot Bobby!"
You get the point. The funny part is... The child's name is NOT Bobby! I think he reminds Anthony of a character in Little Bill. The boy is about the right age and their looks are similar.... The poor kid was renamed today. When I corrected Anthony he called him the right name for a minute, but then it was back to "BOBBY!" :)

November 10, 2008

Just sayin'...

Jason and I bantered back in forth (as usual) in WalMartz over framing posters for the kids playroom or using the sticky stuff to stick them to the wall. My vote was for frames his sticky stuff. After standing there going back and forth he won. We get home, he stuck them to the wall, and I HATED it (imagine that)...

Tonight I walk into the playroom and the princess poster is halfway off the wall because the sticky stuff lost its stick. Frames wouldn't have done that... Just sayin'....

So, we started "letter of the week"

This has been something I have been wanting to do forever, but just never did. Anthony knows his letters, but Madison does not and I figured it would be fun even if smarty pants knows them... Well today it began... We talked about the letter A, we looked for A's in some books, and we made an A for Alien (which I copied from an awesome blog for toddler / preschool art...) All was going well... Until they went nutso with the markers! They had marker in their ears, on their bellies, all over the table, even on my hardwood. I know what your thinking... what moron would leave 2 crazy kiddos with markers unattended, that's the worst part. I sitting right there trying to put an end to the madness with little luck. As I took markers away they grabbed another. It was a comical disaster. I had lost ALL control. (Somehow, I manage to lose control quite a bit. I may need to work on that...)They were squealing with delight and I finally gave up and rolled with it! Bless the mom who invented washable markers!!

Later in the week we are getting crazy with Apple prints, so Watch Out! :)

November 9, 2008

Its Official!

I have had it!!!

Shame on me, but the TV is babysitting my little monsters at the moment! We have had a lot of TV today :( I don't like that... But sometimes it is necessary because mommy may need a mental health day (which I do!) The beasts have been going strong all day. Its like they are bouncing off the walls. Tonight, while I was trying to have a simple phone conversation, they trashed my house, got in the tub, then emptied a bottle of shampoo all over themselves. They were rubbing it in like "wotion, mommy see?!?" (I should have known better. They are NEVER quiet when I am on the phone!) This is why I have had it! We have washed away the shampoo, picked up their messes, and I parked the boogers on the couch with Thomas. They are screaming now... the silence only lasted a mere 6 minutes (Some babysitter Thomas is...) I am tired and will be going to bed right after these guy... Thank God for open gym tomorrow! They will get to burn off some of this energy! Only 30 minutes until bedtime! WOOHOO!!!

Weirdos!

Seriously, who does this?!?! More importantly, why would you even want to?

To Do:

Last night, Madison was following me and Jason saying "pie-e" over and over... Finally, we got a clue and realized she was saying potty... So we put her on and low and behold she peed. After claps, hoorays, and high fives (all the appropriate and excessive gestures one makes when one's young child potties) I tried to get her up and she yelled "NO pie-e" So I handed her her "Melmo" book and left her to her business. I checked in a few minutes later and the little booger pooped... I about died! All day she has asked to pie-e, and I have been taking her. She has been slightly wet, but is going mostly on the potty... So added to my To Do list is: Panties for Madison! I think the time has come. I have been avoiding it for a while... Maybe, just maybe I can have her potty trained before Christmas!
.
Our little rag-a-muffin potty princess!

November 6, 2008

Facts from the day

1. We were late for music class. (I used to be prompt, even early, lateness was a pet peeve. However, since I have become a mother I am always running behind!)

2. Counting to 3 and the threat of losing a story really works wonders!

3. I filled up my gas for $44.60. I only paid $2.05 / gallon!! I have been paying $60 +!

4. I got TONS of Christmas shopping done!

5. I did 7 miles on my elliptical (burn baby burn!)

6. I baked chocolate chip cookies and have since consumed all the calories I burned :(

7. I read "Elmo Goes Potty" 13 times and Madison still cried for more!

8. I have loaded, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher 3 times today!

9. I am going to have a drink, watch Entourage, go to sleep, and do it all over again tomorrow!

November 5, 2008

Brother to Sister

Madison: "wah wah wah" (crying for some reason unknown to me)

Anthony: "It's okay Mad, Anthony's riiiight here (gives her a kiss on the cheek) , don't worry. The big green monster is all away!"

Wednesday Weigh In

Okay so let me preface by saying I have ate a TON of candy this week. I have also consumed too many cupcakes and cookies (Thanks Sara! I loved them but my butt did not :P ) Anyway, I weighed in and I am down .8 pounds... point 8 geesh.... Better than nothing I guess...

Just sayin'....

So, I'm not going all political on you guys, but its my blog and I am going to share my feelings because they are so deep. I have two wise friends who disagree with my opinions, but have shared some wise words:

"That is what is great about this country. We can disagree, but still respect each others opinions"
and
"I hope whoever is elected will live up to their supporters expectations"

I couldn't agree with these friends more. It just happens that we disagree on this one thing.

I am thrilled that Obama has won! He has inspired me and millions of others, he makes me feel like this country is going to become even better, and he makes me feel like I do have a voice. I hope he lives up to my expectations and I hope that he is a great president!

Okay, no more political views from me... I am just had to express my thoughts quickly on this and I hope that I haven't offended any friends along the way... :)

November 4, 2008

Something I heard...

I was just listening to the news, and they commented how Barrack Obama's grandmother was able to vote absentee before she passed away. Can you imagine the pride she felt voting for her grandson? It's sad that she was not able to live to see IF her grandson was to become president of the US... Not trying to be political, but this just struck a chord with me...

November 3, 2008

Why oh why?!?!

Madison totally removed her diaper and dropped the poop pellets that were in her diaper ALL over the floor. She walked from the family room through the foyer to the dining room dropping poo the entire way... She kept repeating "momee pee momee pee..." until she found me! I was scouring the floor looking for the tiny poos forever! Thank god she is a little constipated or I would have had a real mess.

Note to self: Madison has to have on pants or a onesie at ALL times until I am prepared for full on potty training...

What do your children covet?

Anthony and Madison will go to desperate measures to get their sticky little fingers on a receipt. They (Anthony) refer to them as tickets. In our house you need a ticket to do anything...
Want to go upstairs? You must have a ticket. Want to take a bath? You better have a ticket... We need tickets for EVERYTHING! This morning Madison needed a ticket to wake up... Receipts must be well hidden in our house or they will be taken to be used to access somewhere or something in the house... I cannot even leave the grocery store without handing my "ticket" over as soon as I get it...

So, what strange item does your child covet?

November 2, 2008

Lost:

Missing: Two beautifully and thoughtfully decorated pumpkins. They are well loved and deeply missed.

Last Seen: On our front porch last night. (our front porch lights were on too...)

Reward: Two small children will love you forever and will shower you with hugs and kisses!

Seriously, last night teenagers wrecked havoc in our neighborhood. My neighbors mail box is smashed and some peeps cars were broken into... and I thought this was a nice neighborhood... :(Thankfully we only have 2 missing pumpkins!) One question... Where are their parents?!?! ;)

November 1, 2008

Saturday Night...

How did you spend your Saturday night?

I can remember a time when I would just be getting into a great bar, slinging back shots, and dancing the night away.... It seems so long ago. I cannot even imagine it now... I remember before we decided to have Anthony (and then Madison) how the scene was starting to get old, I was bored, and ready for "more"... We both were. So we moved into the next phase: parenthood.

Flash forward almost 4 years...

Saturday night: me wandering the aisles at Martins taking my sweet time, guaranteeing that Jason has gotten the kids to bed. Stocking up on cupcake mixes because the kids LOVE them... Coming home to silence, unpacking groceries, enjoying every precious moment of silence... Then the grand finale: making homemade blueberry muffins so my family can enjoy them in the morning... Bliss to me boring for some, but I wouldn't change it for the world...

Halloween

Our Halloween was a nightmare! My kids were miserable, Madison refused to nap, Jason was being a non helping JERK, and I was so sick of everyone!! I just wanted to run away screaming. Which SUCKED because I actually like Halloween. I think its a fun holiday and I am usually all about some spooky Halloween...

The day started out grand then went to hell FAST! The kids were being more high maintenance than usual and Jason was off doing his own thing. No biggie. I survived the morning, put them down for nap, was just getting into the shower when Madison started to scream. I waited it out a few, but she was not giving up... so I got her and laid down with her... She never fell asleep...

Anthony woke up soon after and he and Madison started to fight, whine, scream, and cry about EVERYTHING! All the while, my lovely husband was locked in the bathroom cutting his hair (apparently his barber moved and he doesn't like the other guys... whatever!) for 2 freaking hours. Finally at 4:00 I lost it and starting ranting (like a lunatic I might add) how it would be nice if I could get a shower and how I would like to have 10 freaking minutes without whining children! After all he did have the ENTIRE day!

He got the message and I got a shower. My happy face was back on and I was looking forward to the festivities. However, my children didn't get the happy memo. Anthony was not cooperating (imagine that) and Madison was 2.5 seconds away from a melt down, but out we went. They lasted about 45 minutes before the crying set in. Home we went. We handed out candy for a while. Then off to the bath my babes went (I bathed them mind you... Jason "didn't FEEL like it" grrr) and off to bed they went. It was the longest freaking day! I fell into bed last night... Today is a little better. My husband isn't being a jerk (he did apologize) and the kids woke up on the RIGHT side of the bed... THANK GOD!
I did mange to get a few cute pics (I also posted a slide show)

Disclaimer: Jason isn't a jerk always just yesterday... (I don't want you to get the wrong idea. He is usually an AWESOME person to parent with..; yesterday he sucked though...)
