E! is like CNN in our house. Jason and I have it on always (even though he would never admit it) We love celeb gossip. It's fun and it sure beats watching the news and the depressing state our world is in...
Anyway, last night as I dozed Jason woke me up with this tidbit of info.... I cannot say I am surprised. While I am glad Brit is doing better, I must say I slightly miss the train wreck she was months ago.

Lions and Tigers and Bears... OH MY!

If you have spent anytime with Anthony, you know how friendly, outgoing, and uber social he is. He LOVES everybody!
Everybody, that is, except the ice cream man. He is terrified of the ice cream man. At the start of the summer, we would literally have to run in the house, shut and lock the doors, and hold him forever as he cried and cried. He would look out the windows to see if "da iceman is doming" The fear is kinda funny, but he is truly terrified. As you hold him, you can feel his heart racing and pounding in his chest. I feel bad for him. Towards the end of summer, he got a little better. He didn't have to be inside, but he was still afraid. (In the picture above he is making sure the ice cream man stays away from our house. He would not take his eyes off of the truck!)
Today, I learned that this fear also includes FedEx trucks.... We walked around the circle today and FedEx happened to drive by. Anthony wigged out. He had to be held and he was freaking out that Madison wasn't being held. I finally had to grab her so he would stop panicking!
A child's fears are real, I get that. My child isn't afraid of the things most kids are afraid of, he's an original. He's afraid of the ice cream man and the FedEx truck! :)

Their Back....
****DO NOT READ IF YOU DON"T WANT TO READ ABOUT DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES PREMIER!!!****
Can I just say that I laughed my butt off tonight!?!?! I LOVE when fall TV starts back up! I was never one to watch TV, but once I had kids I started watching more and more! It's a nice way to relax once they are in bed! Anyway, I digress... tonight Desperate Housewives premiered. I laughed and laughed and laughed some more! I about died when Gabby had her daughter chasing the car and when Tom kicked his car's mirror off. Jason came into the family room to see what was so funny! However, there were some sad parts. I hated that Mike and Susan are no longer together (I think they'll get back together though...) and I almost cried when Brie's daughter took the baby. It looks like it will be a good season! I TiVo'ed Brothers & Sisters and I hope to watch it during nap tomorrow! Now, if LOST would start back up life in TV land would be perfect!
.
Anthony and Madison are truely best friends. Nothing makes my heart melt more than seeing them playing together and helping each other. Last night, Madison was crying in the car and Anthony looks over at her and says, "Its K Madison. We almost dere... Wanna sing?"
This morning, they made a tent from blankets and were just playing and laughing away. Its like they have their own secret language. Madison doesn't say many actual words, but ANthony sure knows what she is saying!
Anthony slept with me the other night and Madison woke up WAY to early, so I brought her to be with me. I woke up a while later to her giggles. She thought it was so funny that Anthony was sleeping in the bed too. I just laid there listening to her craking up. Eventually her giggles woke Anthony and he popped his little head up and was so glad and surprised to see his sister there.... They takled each other and rolled in a fit of giggles.
These are the moments I want to capture forever! They are so sweet, kind, and loving to each other. It just melts my heart!
note: they do fight... and alot at that!

check!
I have a notebook which sits on my counter. It contains the key to the day. Without it I surely would wander from thing to thing accomplishing nothing. Each night I right down my "To Do" list for the following day... Nerdy I know, but it keeps me organized and I need all the help I can get in that department...
Two things have been transferred from day to day because I just haven't gotten to them, but I have now checked them off my list! Yay!!!
1. My black eyed susans have been cut back
2. My kids' Halloween costumes have been ordered (Anthony is going to be a handsome fireman and Madison a beautiful ballerina bumble bee)
Yippee!!!
Am I the only crazy one with a list... please tell me I am not alone in my list making neuroses (please! :)

Twinkle, twinkle, little star...

Today was music class. Last week music class was a DISASTER! Anthony hated music class. This week, Anthony stayed home with Jason and Madison and I had some one on one time.I never have one on one time with my princess and it was super nice!
Madison and Anthony are polar opposites. Madison is quiet and reserved. Anthony is boisterous and very rambunctious. Madison does not always get her chance to shine, because Anthony (not purposely) steals the spot light.
Well today was Madison's day. She had so much fun and really got to shine! I was so proud of her and I really enjoyed our short time together with just the two of us. For now on, Anthony will have daddy time and Madison and I will hit music class together. I am giving my princess her chance to have the spotlight all to herself!
Motherhood is dirty business
Last night, Sara had us up for pizza and the kids played. (Thanks Sara!! :) Right as we were getting ready to leave, Anthony said he had to potty and I can tell its URGENT! I pick him up and start running in the house when I get the look. You know the look. The I think I just crapped my pants look... How I HATE that look!
A four letter word danced in my head as I rushed to the potty. I slowly slid down his jeans, I gently slid the undies down when ....plop... onto Sara's floor falls a... I'll spare you the details. Now, lots of four letter words were racing in my mind as I reached for toilet paper.... *&$# there is none....
I thought to myself.... How am I going to keep my rambunctious son still long enough for me to go outside and request for wipes.... "DON"T MOVE ANTHONY!!!" is what I said in the "I mean business mister" voice as I dash outside and call for the troops.
Soon enough, the powder room was a box office blockbuster. I am scrubbing a poo smeared Anthony, Sara is grabbing a pile before Madison steps in it and (this is the best part) Aiden and Madison are standing there observing in awe every last detail! Finally, its clean!
Sara and I giggle as we wash up. We so look like we are ready to hit the OR. We scrub and scrub, soap up to our elbows, laughing the whole time!

ashes, ashes, we all fall down!
That is what is happening around me. My house is falling apart. It is officially in SHAMBLES! I have been super busy, between play dates, Little Gym, Music class, Jason's mancation, and just plain life, I have let my house slide.
This morning I was planning on regaining my house. Typically my children are great independent players (thank god!!) So I set about the picking up, wiping, down, and throwing away... But it didn't last long. My children are being total nightmares today. Crying, fighting, hitting, biting. What is the deal! They haven't been like this in ages!
So, I have given up. Tomorrow is a new day. Today is survival. In order to survive, I am currently hiding in the office, but the gig is up... They just crashed through the doors in a fighting mess...
Is it nap time yet?!?!?!

Who would have thought...
I have worked with children forever. Once I was old enough I babysat, I worked for about 3 years in a daycare / preschool, and I nannied my way through college and graduate school. I would have continued working with children (as a teacher), but I became a mommy first. I thought all this experience would have prepared me for motherhood, but is so didn't...
Never in a MILLION years did I think I would be sitting on the floor in my bathroom urging my son to do a "big black one" (his terminology NOT mine). The first time he pooed in the potty, he looked and exclaimed "Look at dat! That's a big black one!" We laughed, we cheered, we celebrated, and "the big black one" entered our daily life. It's here for now and I have embraced it.
The whole phrase "big black one" makes me giggle. I know its gross, but hey this is my day! One day I will die of embarrassment when he tells his preschool teacher or announces at MOPS that he needs to "do a big black one", but until this potty thing is completely down, we are sticking to his terminology. We will use better, more accepted words at a later date!
p.s. I think he is officially potty trained! YAY Anthony!!!!
"I hear it mom.... A big black one... coming"
"Good job! Mommy is so proud when you do big black ones in the potty! Come
on, do some more big black ones, get them all out! YAY!! You did it!
"Wow!! Look at dat, I did big black ones. I show daddy?"

And so it begins!
Hmmm… Where to begin! I have been wanting to blog for quite some time, but never started. I actually created this account a while ago, but chickened out and never put my thoughts out there. Well, I am here now! RUN FOR THE HILLS PEOPLE!
I really want to have a place to think out loud and share what’s going on in the day to day trenches of motherhood. I also wanted a place to record the sometimes funny sometimes frustrating antics of my terribly wonderful children now that their baby books are overflowing.
So while I may be boring at times, I hope to be mostly entertaining, and maybe :gasp: insightful… okay that so isn’t happening! Anyway, enjoy!
